[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The moon rises and night descends on the first frigid day of February.

What's remarkable is how little snow we had at that moment, so that you can see the stubble of the fields sticking through.

The moon isn't quite so sharp as I'd have liked, but I was shooting without a tripod, and the freezing temps did not encourage more time outdoors setting one up!

Hi Jim, very nice capture of the wintry Midwest, while it can be bleak and cold it also has it's own beauty, especially with all those nice cool blue tones in the sky and snow. Very nice use of natural lighting and great exposure. The point of view used here, looking at the buildings from the open field, with the lines of dried grass going at an angle across the shot, create excellent balance. The lines of grass lead the eye to the background and the buildings and trees point up to the sky and moon. Very good clarity and detail, and excellent horizontal framing. I would fix just two things though: first, there is a slight tilt in the shot that is a little distracting; and also, the edge of the ground in the background is cutting the shot almost in half, which doesn't help with the balance. I would recommend maybe backing up or zooming out a bit more to let the snowy ground below take up just a little more space at the bottom edge, that way the shot can fit the rule of thirds. Really beautiful though, TFS!

Just a beautiful shot here Jim! LOVE the blue twilight look to the shot! A bit tilted to the right??? Or are we on a hill? So beautiful!
