Looking over Wingra, one of Madison's four lakes, in late January. I tried to get a sense of the expanse of an iced-over lake, but still maintain objects in the foreground. I don't know how this will upload, but the sign on the lifeguard chair simply says "No Lifeguard on Duty."
I like the open diagonal across the frame, and I wish I had a little more to the right of the chair, but I think it paints a good picture of the bleakness of winter in Madison anyway. |

great B+W shot Erik
I like the black treeline bisecting the scene and punctuated by the black and sharply represented tree on the left.
The footprints add a diagonal character and the overall tones create a feeling of barren-ness.
Good artistic eye.
