[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This post is dedicated to my friend Selahattin. Besides being a wonderful man, Selahattin is a true artist. This is a talent that I admire greatly, but lack. When I grow up in my photography skill, I’ll be thrilled to be half as good as he is. IMO, he had the best post of the day on Wednesday. I want so badly to be able to compose a photo into a piece of art like, “Pink Beauty.”

My water pumps: I don’t think the little guy ever pumped water, but the big one probably did 40 years ago. I hosed them down to give them a little more vibrant look. The POV could be much better, but I would lose the little guy in the leaves at different POVs. I took 100 photos all over my yard, but settled on this, because the big guy was getting heavy. Actually, I was just happy to get it “almost focused.” This is a major accomplishment for me.:)

Wooooo Whooo! It’s Thursday! You know what that means….just one more day! I hope your day is a blessed one!

Hello My friend,

This is simply awesome Dennis! The colour, tone and sharpness is amazing and your notes (story) was a joy to read! This scene, although is a still picture, fades in and out into B&W for me and I can picture someone using it 40 years ago wondering how the world might be....this is a very special photo Dennis and sometimes the story can unfold the mysteries of time....TFS!

regards,

Dilshan

Hi Dennis, great composition and lovely autumn colours.
Thanks for sharing,
john

Hi Dennis,

This is really good work. The pumps are very sharp (did you use manual focus?) and the DOF is good to keep a lot of the photo within focal range. The red pumps amongst the fallen leaves makes this a nice rural compostion, and both pumps are close to the vertical thirds lines. Well framed, with a nice dedication.

Best regards,
Werner

Hi Dennis,
I want to congratulate you for this marvelous composition depicting Autumn in 'full swing' adorned with its relative colors of the foliage!
An awesome capture of these old water pumps which coincide perfectly with the subject, but I must admit that you over saturated the colors - they don't look natural at all and some noise is visible!
Try to disaturate a little bit and you have a much neater presentation. Nevertheless try "Neat Image" to reduce noise!
As I said I give you full merit for the composition!
Best regards and continue to enjoy photography, my friend.

Good morning, this is a fine shot in every way except the sharpness is not up to your cameras potential.Greetings Otto.

Dennis, my friend!
This a wonderful capture!
Great colors and details, and wonderful idea!
Congratulation!

Delightful subject and title! The soft focus almost adds a mood effect, but probably would be better crisp and clear for the punch of autumn colors and the red water pumps. Nevertheless, this image is appealing and nostagic, with the charm of the visual humor working well. I can see how you carefully considered the POV and overall impression. Keep up the good work:)

Dennis

Dennis, fantastic artistic piece! No kiddin! I really like the color saturations you did here. It gives a surrealistic perspective of the old water pump, which no doubt got great use during it's time. A+1 Excellente!

HI Dennis
Years ago we owned a cottage in the mountains that had this type of pump. Many times it would have me growling pumping away. You guessed it was replaced with more modern facilities.
The colors are well saturated, the pumps are sharp and outstanding and well placed in the shot.

Hi Dennis - Beautiful shot with complementary colors. Good idea on watering down the pump - the gloss adds to the photo.
Congrats on your big day!
