[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Whenever they say anything about a lighthouse keeper, they always act as if he were some kind of hero. We're not heroes. Here I am on this island, perfectly safe, working and painting pictures, while you wander around in New Bedford, crossing streets with automobiles and trolley cars whizzing by, just missing you by a few feet. Why, you people take more chances in a week than I do in ten years.
Arthur Small (the lighthouse keeper) died in 1938 while tending the lighthouse when a hurricane hit New Bedford.

Lovely range of tone on this shot. I expecially like how well the lighthouse stands out, as well as the walkway to it. The water could use a little more tone, and the vingette is a little rough, but overall very nice.

very beautiful,I like the lihjt house in the middle and the seagull in the thirds, excellent composition.

The mood is for me a little sad...lonely....i like this a lot.

No points left, in the morning:)

This is such a wonderful photo. Great viewpoint and lighting. I've tried on numerous occasions to capture this light but could never get a shot like this. This is a favorite.

Une photo de haut vol...
Une atmosphère planante...
Bravo!

I really like this a lot. Did you softened this with NI ?? a bit too much i think. Especially in the sky. The gradation looks strange. Center composition doesnt matter with me because you have seagull in the third.
Dodging in the rock really works well. Leading to the light house as a POI. Lonely impression it gives though.

This is really quite mystical, a brilliant image which I'm adding to my favourites. I'm pleased you broke the rule of thirds, it works very well.

I have only one word for this picture.
Briljant!!!! .. i give you a point

Very interesting. Great exposure, did you add the bird ? Great focus on the main subject, great crop, well frame in the sense that a lot of elements are there to make this shot interesting. The door is great with the shadow, makes it pop. The rocks are just nice!!! Good idea to mark a dark surroudings to really help the eye focus on the lighthouse. TFS

Very good note. Nice composition but if you place the most important object, in this case, the lighthouse, one third or two thirds of the way across the image, the scene would be achieved by the rule of thirds. I like the vingetting.

beautiful composition here Luis :)

Ola,

Esta foto merece todos os pontos que tem...
Está fantastica, boa profundidade. A composição é...simples mas forte.

Grande trabalho.
Abraço.

hi Luis,

This is a beautiful photograph. The textures, composition are so effective they go beyond technique, so successful in conveying the emotion. tfs, jing
