Normally I prefer black and white for portraits, but the colors of this girls hair, her gorgeous skin and her eyes just demanded color!
This is one of Shelby's schoolmates taking a break from singing at Lincoln Center. Hope you all have a great Easter Eve!

A very beautiful portrait. I like that she's looking away from you and very thoughtful. Beautiful eyes and I love the color of her hair. TFS

Hi Linda
Perfect choice on the color, composition well managed and the slight softness of the focus works well here. Kids had a great time in NY - lot of great memories.

Been away for a few days and I'm catching up.

dan

your are right.. about colour hair.. but what i find intriguing here is her expression.. looking for someone or something.. she's natural, true.. and this is the best quality in a close up!! then.. great capture Linda!!
ciao Marco

happy easter

Hi Linda
I agree the colors here are wonderful! I love her big hoops!
I wonder what she is looking at.. Her eyes are beautiful!

Happy Easter....

nice but the focus...look at the WS ;o)

You're right about the skin colour being worth the colour delivery! Lovely moment captured, great expression, good use of natural light.

The fairly slow shutter speed along with the long lens has given you a touch of camera-shake but it's sharper than anything I could've done, you have steady hands! Wondering why you didn't opt for a higher ISO, it would've eliminated any risk of motion blur?

Rew

hi linda!
very nice catch :))
great view.

Hi Linda, we have an increasing number of African migrants down here now with skin colours ranging from this to the blue/blacks of the Sudan. I just wish I had the intestinal fortitude to ask some of the younger women if I could take some photos. Beautiful eyes, good pose and the skin tones well handled. The workshop has lost a lot of her beauty in darkness. TFS,
David

Many thanks for your comment on ‘A well worn flight’

Hi Karan, lovely portrait of beautiful woman with great expression and splendid eyes, very well done, Happy Easter, ciao Silvio

Hi Linda, nice capture, beautiful face, nice sharpen, really a good portrait. TFS

Hello Linda,

This is an outstanding portrait!
You really have captured the delicious colours in her hair, the softness of her skin and those eyes! Wow!
Portraits are not easy but this really is a stunner!

Kind regards,
Bev :-)

Hi Linda - Rew makes a great point about the ISO, with the 30D you should be able to up it quite a bit and still get decent results.

But that said, I do like this natural portrait. A very pretty girl and, I think, the eyes make the shot. Lovely big eyes and I do like the way she is looking off to the side like that. Very nice shot :-)

Hi Linda,
Nice and beautiful portrait, with lovely expression. Catchy eyes and hair colors making her looked gorgeous.

Tech talk... I do agree with Rew on your superb steady hand with that slow shutter far below the optimum speed to go with your focal length... yet, the result is a lot better than what I can do, referring to one over forty at 200(200!!!)mm... that is adorable steady hand.

Bonjour Linda
A wonderful portrait and i love the expression!
Agree with a little bit more sharpness!
Bravo à toi!
Eric

Wonderful; I've played a bit !

thanks,

Hi Linda,

Wooooooooo a pretty face which is simply depicting how lovely are the human beings. Hummm, I shall be interacting with such girls if I opt to work with IDIBAPS in mozambique. You have beautifully captured the charming girl in this frame. An excellent shot my friend, well done.

Thanks for sharing this image.
P.S. Did you take her telephone number? lol.

Linda
Beautifull portrait of the girl. Lovely expression.

Hello Linda ,

Sweet candid portrait of a charming lady . I do agree it would be better a bit sharper . Still love the composition and her expression . I like a lot the various interpretations of fellow members who posted workshops. They are all interesting in a way even the darker version from Mika.
Bravo!
Robert

The toning in the photo is great but maybe it can be alittle sharper..

Thanks for dropping by my page.
:D

Very special, great idea and well composed!

Dear Linda.
For an hour I was 'busy' with your portrait !
Let me first tell you ..for me .. as TL Member John Tulip this is :
Amazing and the Silver Tulip Award .. Gold would have been better!

When I did the eddit I noticed your image was only on resolution 70
When you open start first changing this
Go to : image>imagesize .. there copy 'width'by right mouse click .. go to resolution and change your 70 to ?? 250-350- or 450 ???
than you see the photo size has increased .. now go back to Width.. right mouse click and past the first width back.. ok and close . I also go to : Image > mode and change the 8 bits channel to 16 bits channel

Than start the PS Circus

Two TL members made a good critique in my view: Urfaust and Rewsearer.

I see 'Sebak' and 'dont4get_im' wanted to see a ''sharper'' image ..
Sharper?? I learned from RuudBlok a while back that in a photo portrait some kind softness is good, but only eyes should be 'sharp' and later found the same in PS books ..
But again ..here .. to me .. all looks great !

Linda..I am NOT important ..sure now and than I have a nice photo.. like many here .. but to you I like to say: Go and take SERIOUS lessons! In photoshop!
You have a strong photographers talent I M H O !

Same for Silke whom we have seen grown so much
You know.. a year and half back I helped Vandana2923 a little with the knowledge I had than..
Since in my opnion she 'had the talent' !

After she went to a basic Photo shop course and later the upgrade expert course she is what we see for the last ??year.. and now she helped me .
I know also Silke is sharing photoshop skills with others and that is the power of Treklens .. realy helping.

Take my word for it: Go and let the 'tiger' out .. devellop your skill!!

With respect for this photo

John T

Very special, great idea and well composed!
Wow, what a babe :-)
Than after Johns sharp analysing this , I see 'deeper, now
and he IS right. You are now on a higher level.
Do something with it , I say that too

Rob
