**Love my Tokina! Why is it tilted you ask? Because it was boring symmetrical, so I angled it when I shot it!
This is the ceiling at the Cathedral at St Patrick's in New York City. This southern Baptist girl got to go to Mass on the Sunday morning before we came home. The place is just incredible, so large and the architecture was crazy! This is an indoor shot and I was worried the pics would be too dark. Thanks for Viewing!

St Patrick's Cathedral is a decorated Neo-Gothic-style Catholic cathedral in North America. It is the seat of the archbishop of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of New York, and a parish church, located on the east side of Fifth Avenue between 50th and 51st Streets in midtown Manhattan. It faces Rockefeller Center. It is perhaps the best known Roman Catholic cathedral in the United States.

* The cathedral is built of white marble quarried in New York and Massachusetts and can accommodate 2,200 people.
* The cathedral is bounded by East 51st Street to the north, Madison Avenue to the east, East 50th Street to the south, and Fifth Avenue to the west.
* The spires rise 330 feet (100 meters) from street level.
* The windows were made by artists in Chartres, Birmingham and Boston. The great rose window is one of Charles Connick's major works.
* The St. Michael and St. Louis altar was designed by Tiffany & Co.. The St. Elizabeth altar was designed by Paolo Medici of Rome.
* The cathedral's Stations of the Cross won a prize for artistry at the World Columbian Exposition in Chicago in 1893.
* The pietà is three times larger than Michelangelo's Pietà. It was sculpted by Araldo Perugi, who immigrated from Carrara, Italy.

Have a great day!

Fabulous PoV, colours and composition.
I like the warmth of the lighting here -- the yellow helps to transform those stone walls nicely

I must say Linda George that I have never seen this POV from St. Patricks! Very different! I am amazed at all the details big and small! Lighting is very nice but I have to wonder how do they change those light bulbs?

Beautiful and tiltet well Linda!! hahhahahah
Funny, but I would have straigthend it...
Fortunately we're not all the same eh??

Love the sharpness and the colors, I really think this is an amazing shot. Great angle!
Love it!

Hi Linda,
:) funny thing happened while I am excitingly taking a look into this shot... I feel like I am cocking up my head to look upward. :D. You took it in a very interesting POV, nicely composed in good exposure.

And if this is presented with a leveling rotation, it will surely look symmetrical. But then, might not be as nice as what you have presented here, I believe.

Thank you for sharing, Linda.

Regards,
Ramdan.

Hi Linda,
What a striking POV, here! The golden tones are so well rendered, here, and made an excellent contrast with the subtle touches of blue! I like these repetitive arches looking like an abstraction. Very well seen and done! Annie

Hello Linda,

I can see a magnificinet architecture here, a fabullous shot which is is providing a real feel of being there. Can we call it a Gothic style? Fine details and luminosity are excellent. Fantastic image my friend, well done.

Thanks for sharing this image.

hi linda, neat interior shot, wonderful unique point of view, very creative!
tfs,
scott

Hi, Linda!

Fantastic shot with the excellent POV! Beautiful colours and lights.

Kind regards,

jazmin

Well, your note describes it, so I won't mention it - but what the heck, I have to say it anyway: the crazy tilt is making me dizzy, in a good way, I might add! It looks like you shot it while falling from the balcony, a split second before hitting the floor!
Cheers
otto
