Good Morning! Another New York Sparrow! Hope you all have a great day, we are cold and rainy here, but I get to have lunch with an old friend!

Boost some more brightness linda :) A tighter crop also can be nice because I think the branch on the right is a little too much

Hi there Linda!
Very nice compostition here!
That bird was our former national bird!(now its the Philippine Eagle). It is called here as "Maya".

Hi Linda
You are turning into quite a bird lady. I agree with Yanm on the color boost, having said that I compliment you on the clarity and the branch on the right works for me.

Hello Linda,

Lunching with old friends is worth any inconvenience of the weather!

Although sparrows are very common, I think they are hard to photograph! I have had a number of attempts but either the eye contact is not there or they cannot be brightened!

You have some very good details here! I particularly like how you have captured its feet holding on to that near vertical twig!

Kind regards,
Bev :-)

Hi Linda,
Nicely composed. Well exposed to capture the NY sparrow with good clarity. Lovely blurred BG.
Nice shot, Linda.

Thanks for you nice critique on my "INSECT 1" picture...;]

Using your recent 2008-09-07 23:02 forum critique suggestion, I go out on a limp to say:
Good: like the isolation (DOF) of the bird from the background.
Bad: the angle of the shot upwards makes the sparrow look fat with a small head. His eye is lost in the blackness of his head; there is an unusual white spot behind his eye which competes with the reflection in his eye. Colours are ‘just ok’.
Good: your other sparrow: "Posing for Bread Crumbs" is MUCH better proportioned and sits well in the frame, a superior photo all round.
Generally: You have many good and very good photos on your site. Alas, this is not one of them. Can’t quite understand/ agree with the ‘backslapping’ comments of your fans.
