This is for my friend David , who takes lots of foggy shot. This was taken at Pier 17 in New York City. This old square rigger is parked in New York Harbor. The day was pouring rain, so windy the umbrellas were turning inside out! Hope you like it David!
Just converted to BW from RAW.

I have recently seen old images of the estuary and the wharfs cluttered with these old ships Linda. Nicely converted and your lack of any other PP makes it look old. Thank you,
David

Hi Linda

A nice tribute, to my compatriot, refugee. Superb b&w image here, with a good tonal range, & excellent sharpness & framing. Good job!

Hi Calamity,
Hopefully you don't mind that not only David, but also I comment this posting :-) Great Black&White image! The mist makes it looks mysterious although I would have give it a bit tighter crop to enlarge the whole image a bit. Nevertheless your today's picture is marvelous.
Hans

Hi Linda,

It has a very pleasant old feel to it!!
Like you took the shot 200 years ago. Nothing really too modern in sight that would ruin that feeling. i like it!

Greetings,
Dennis

like a ghost ship coming out of the fog. truly an amazing shot Linda. the fog made all the difference. TFS

Hi Linda,

Amazing shot. I like the fog in the background. The Far Side of the World :) Great work!!!

Quite different from Texas for sure! Looks great, but a bit forbidding - you get the idea of miserable weather from this b/w shot.
Cheers
otto

Hi Linda! I remember my trek in NYC with your pic and note. The black and white conversion is a good choice.
I bought a 10$ black "I love NY" umbrella and it was always turning upside down! We planned a chopper ride but the weather was just not cooperating with us, like in our planned Niagara helicopter ride. Anyway, there will always be next time :)
Cheers!
Freddie :)
