I took this in March, in Central Park and had a great time shooting the sparrows because they were so unafraid of humans, you could almost reach out and touch them!
I did a little saturation here, converted from RAW and sized up for TL.
Today Andy, Shelby, Lissa (Andy's GF) and I head to Freeport TX to the beach. It will be hot, for sure...it's going to be a super long day! I'm already tired!
Hope you all have a great weekend!
Linda

Poor little guy! Looks so cold! and I remember it was really wet then too!
Superb textures here and the composition is strong, with the bird nicely placed close to the thirds power point and the twig serving as a nice lead-in line from the bottom right corner

Hi Linda,
Excelent photo, nice bg,very sharp and good light.
Best rgards,

Hi Linda,

I really like how you have used the bare branches in the foreground to lead the eye up to the bird. This really makes you feel for the little fellow in the winter. I'd certainly take some bird seed to Central Park.

Enjoy your day at the beach. I can relate to you and feeling the heat. I prefer the beach when you have to wear a light sweater! :D

thanks for sharing, Lisa :D

Poor little fellow. He looks cold and hungry Linda. How could you resist that cute little face and not provide some food for him. I like how the branch leads us to him in this image and how very cute his look is. Well done. Have a great day at the beech.
Warm Regards
Wanda

Attractive POV,Love the brach that in well position as leading line to the sparrow,Good control of light and color,Sharpness on the subject DOF and very good Bokeh on BG.Nice shot,TFS.

Hi Linda,
Lovely eye contact. The twigs made a nice abstracts for the composition. Beautiful capture of the sparrow and its surroundings.

Regards,
Ramdan.

Thanks Linda! For once it is scorching hot here, too! Well perhaps not scorching, but upper 20's. It went off the scale in the conservatory 40+!

A great shot of the sparrow showing lovely textural details of his plummage. He does look a little 'superior'!

Nice composition using the useful twig and good dof.

Kind regards,
Bev :-)

Hi Linda,

Hope you are enjoying the beach today - of course that is much more tyring then 5 hours on end on a hot day on a motorbike - no speed to cool you down, hopefully you are able to go in the water.
At first I though it was a desaturated picture, but when opening the thumbnail it became clear, a winters day and cheeky sparrow.
Lovely light and excellent focus.

I hope you had a great day at the beach :) This little birdie is so cute, and the details are really good. TFS

Horrid, noisy, destructive wee birds but they are funny to watch. Well composed Linda with good colour and detail. You even managed the catch light in both eyes!
