Twin Towers Excavation in Miniature
 |
|
| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
Richard (Kilted-Arab) has peeked my interest with a couple of these "in miniature" postings. In fact he was kind enough to include a link to the instructions. So I had to try one. This is an October 2007 image from the site of the Twin Towers in New York City. I stuck my camera lens through a hole in the fence to get this shot.
I discovered that the first step in this miniaturization process is to find an image that looks right, I'm not sure about this one, but I did enjoy giving it a try and will continue to look for the "right" image. |

Hi Daniel
Great details and image quality in 1/3 of image but I don;t know why the 2/3 from above seems out of focus?!
Meaningful titles, TFS and nice experience.

Hi Dan! Gotta congratulate you on trying the technique, I think it's quite fun :-)
I'm not sure this is the perfect shot to do it with, but all the same it works pretty well, I think. The trucks look miniature, less sure about the guy. Increasing saturation a little more may help the "toy" effect. Overall I think this is pretty cool :-)

Hmmm...big toys for big boys? :) I like the processing effects for the intense and stand-out clarity of the truck in the slightly obscured surroundings. Good way to make this shot more impressive and interesting, especially since you didn't go overboard. Enjoyed seeing this one, and you handled it well:)
Hi Daniel.
Personally, I think it was a right picture for this kind of PP work. The result is very successful. Great POV too.
