[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is for the men and women who serve their countries, the armed forces, the policemen, firemen and security guards who get up each morning and go about their jobs protecting us. They leave their families to keep ours safe.

They pass us on the streets, in the schools, places of business, our neighborhoods and the only time we notice them is when they do something wrong. They pay the ultimate sacrifice as they give their lives to make sure that we can walk down the street, play in the parks, shop and buy fancy clothes, drive late at night.

I have a friend that, every time she sees a policeman or fireman, she runs over and thanks them for what they do. It's a thankless job. It's something that we take for granted everyday. Without these people we would not be free.

This is a shot of two New York City Police Officers, just doing what they do....as people walk by going about their lives. I cropped in tight just fit the theme. An HDR Image.
Have a GREAT weekend!!
Linda

Ciao Linda, Oh Oh, late today too:)
beautiful composition with fantastic shadows, I like a lot, brava, ciao Silvio

Hi Linda

A good contribution to the theme using shadows. There is a category 1 hurricane lurking off the Qld Coast, & the weather could get interesting in my neck of the woods, sometime next week, if it keeps on track to the south. Have a great weekend!

Hello Linda,

An interesting 'view' on the theme.
I like your crop and decision to use three shadows.

Kind regards,
Bev :-)

Nice idea and creativity, Congratullations.

Hi Linda,

Suits verry good to the theme.
Nice photo of the shadows of faceless important men.
Regards, Marga

Hi Linda,

I like this shot. I'm such a shadow person when it comes to photos. They really fascinate me for some reason. I guess it's the old days of "shadow tag". :) I also like the shiny shoes that are included too.

Good addition to the theme. Lisa

Hi Linda
I'm amazed the words you put with your photos! This one is also a perfect match... Great for the theme.. but also for everyday..

Tricia

Hi Linda,
Good shot for the faceless portrait theme this week, the shadows of the people have good contrast, creative contribution. TFS.
Greetings,
Kristof

Hello Linda,
Sympathize with this shot, very emotive.
We have a war going on in Denmark at the moment, young immigrants against Hells Angels, Its all about who controls the drug markets.
6 Dead and 11 wounded, 5 of which where innocent bystanders.
Over 60 shootings since January, Ambulance and Firemen now have to have a Police escort to enter the area.
And now the Politicians say the Police are not doing there job.
Typical.
Have a Nice Day.
MikeD
Vey new for Denmark.

yes, indeed our protectors !

good contribution to the theme ! and a great idea...

regards, willie

Hello Linda,

I agree with Trish, you always attach an interesting caption, commentary to your images. I'm surprised the NYC cops allowed you to take a picture of them. I'll have to ask my cousin about that. Actually, he's a cousin-in-law...excuse the pun.

Good composition and the POV, of course. Not much else to say then other members have already mentioned...

Be well,
Jim

Hi Linda,
Original way to illustrate the Friday theme! Excellent use of the shadows. This makes a relevant analogy with this faceless aspect of this work!
Your note is a good tribute for these men and women!
Bravo and have a nice weekend! Annie

Hey Linda, excellent photo for the theme, and good notes.

Interesting to see the different shapes of the shadows of the two guys, maybe one was a lot shorter, or just the angle of the shot. :-))

Cheers
Dawn
p.s. I even joined in the theme myself this week!

clever shot Linda very nice for the theme, I can say it portrait of shadows he he. Well captured.

tfs.......Buddy

Linda, I like your interpretation friday theme. It's very creative, well-considered composition.
Regards, Ewa

The one in the centre looks a bit short.
A unusual image Linda - and you can make up quite a story to it too.
Maybe the lady on the left is bringing a tray of food / cups to the 2 guys on the right - they've trained her well.
Someone above said 'beautiful composition with fantastic shadows' = sorry, I can't quite see any beauty here, but it sure is good for the theme
Janice

Hi Linda,

Well seen and executed, very interesting ,you could read all sorts of scenarios into your image, what are they doing, what is the person coming from the right going to do?. Nice detail and shadows.
