This is an HDR Image, converted to sepia. I saved this picture in my files, RAW, because I liked it, but the details of the building weren't good. I'm SO happy I did, because HDR is a new thing for me and I am going back to old files that I couldn't bear to delete and reprocessing them.
I took a single image and converted it three different ways to a .TIFF file. Then took those three files in to my HDR program and merged. I liked the color, but when I went to Sepia there was a spooky element to it. So this is what I'm posting today.
I am trying to mix up my shots as best I can. Hope you like it!
This is St Patrick's Cathedral in New York City. This church takes up an entire city block. You really can't appreciate the size until you go inside. It's an amazing church.
B-)

Hi Linda

It looks a little like the St Johns Anglican Cathedral, in downtown Brisbane. Or the St Pauls Cathedral, in Melbourne. God is omnipotent, eh! Nice old & new juxtapositioning here. Tfs!

Hi Linder,
I love this church ! Good POV- there is not a lot of choice to capture all of it. Your B/W works well, giving it ambiance. Heading back down in a few weeks. I LOVE NY,
TFS Julie

HI Linda
Cathedrals always have such elaborate and intricate works in their steeples and facade. Turning it to monochrome seems to
enhance all those details and shadows and the fact that its in between two modern buildings gives more importance to its age. Great shot.

Greet Linda!

Beauty, splendid cathedral!
Very original formulation and realization in black and white medium fell out very curiously.

I congratulate and I greet warmly.

We have a St Pats here in Auckland and it is our Cathedral but not as majestic as this one in New York, yes the sepia gives it a Gotham City look but can't see Batman perching on the belfry. Well done and thanks for sharing this great photo.

Good Morning Linda,

I do like it!
I like how it appears to be pointing to Heaven and although the cathedral is smaller than the skyscrapers on each side, you know those building are just providing a context and are not competing in any way.
Fine details, aged with sepia.

Kind regards,
Bev :-)

Hi Linda
This is a fantastic and powerful perspective and composition, and the b/w presentation, with a touch of sepia, gives it a timeless look and a great mood. The result is fantastic; wonderful photo... master. Congrats.
Have a peaceful weekend, mb

Hi Linda,

I LOVE THIS ONE!! Nothing like New York City. The pov is great as the first time anyone goes there, that is how we hold our heads!! hahahaha I like the mix of modern and old together in one shot. The black and white give it an even older feel... a mysterious mood to me. thanks, Lisa

Hi Linda
I love this mix old & new.
(Reminds me my shot I took 15 years ego in Toronto)
Very good POV and detail.
Sepia HDR is the best choice.
Congratulations.
