Niagara Falls
During this period of thawing, the force and volume of water is so great that you can't imagine someone being alive after swimming in this icy and torrential waters. Like the one in Fallingwater, it is ideal to take pictures of waterfalls and river rapids after the winter so you get a more dynamic flow and a misty feel when water collides w/ ice below :)

Niagara Falls is a set of massive waterfalls located on the Niagara River in eastern North America, on the border between Canada and the United States. Niagara Falls (French: les Chutes du Niagara) comprises three separate waterfalls: the Horseshoe Falls (Canadian Falls), the American Falls, and the smaller, adjacent Bridal Veil Falls.

While not exceptionally high, Niagara Falls is very wide. With more than 6 million cubic feet (168,000 m³) of water falling over the crestline every minute in high flow, and almost 4 million cubic feet (110,000 m³) on average, it is the most powerful waterfall in North America.

Niagara Falls is not only renowned for its beauty. The Falls are a valuable source of hydroelectric power for both Ontario and New York. Preserving this natural wonder from commercial overdevelopment, while allowing for the needs of the area's people, has been a challenging project for environmental preservationists since the nineteenth century. A popular tourist site for over a century, the Falls are shared between the twin cities of Niagara Falls, Ontario and Niagara Falls, New York.

7. select everything except sky and mist
8. sharpen edges
9. convert to jpeg and share to TL :)

Quote of the Day:
I took to photography like a duck to water. I never wanted to do anything else. Excitement about the subject is the voltage which pushes me over the mountain of drudgery necessary to produce the final photograph.

I just want to learn about PP, what do you mean with triplicate layer, is it 3 layers in one?

Hi Fred,

Terrific POv and view for this niagara falls...but I would like to point out the colors, it's a little dull..a little increase of its saturation would be enhance its color and you can framed it up..:D guess that's all i can tell. Have a nice weekend.

Hong

Hello Freddie,
This capture is awesome! The water really feels to have movement because of the spray and the mist. Nice light effects at the top of the falls!
Well done!
Kind regards,
Bev :-)

i envy your travels. this is a passion i share it with my wife. you have an excellent picture here freddie. you have captured well the movement of the water and almost you can feel it. I think this would look better in b&w (not so sure though)
