Red lilac from the Lilac Festival.

A showy French hybrid lilac. Large single florets of a rich dark red purple color. The lobes acquire a pinched twist and the eye shows prominent yellow anthers.

I resized, ran it through Neat Image to soften the petals, pasted it back in the original to preserve the photo information and sharpened slightly added a signature.

In a workshop I'm showing a different version of the red. Which do you like better?

Hi Linda, one of our townships on the mainland has a Lilac Festival. I don't know why but I assumed lilacs were just that...lilac. A lovely shade and well captured with excellent detail. TFS,
