I made some changes as Lara suggested on my original. I appreciated the suggestions.

I decreased the saturation to the original colors. In Photoshop I used the magic wand and selected some of the dark areas of the shelter and went to Adjust Lighting, Levels and lightened them. I then selected the overexposed pillows and darkened them a little and then cloned some of the pillow pattern from another area. I hope you like the changes.

Background
This is very different than most of the photos I upload, but I felt compelled to share it.

Yesterday I went for a walk during my lunch break to High Falls. I wanted to see the falls and take some photos. I came upon this homeless shelter by an old railroad track near an observation deck overlooking the falls less than 100 yards away. The residents were away at the time, probably trying to get whatever food they could find.

It was very sad. You can see the person(s) living there, had a couch, mattress, sectional, easy chair, an old pot by the chair, two grocery carts to carry all their belongings. They had constructed a makeshift tent using pieces of plastic they had found. It even looks to me like there is a small stuffed animal inside the shelter.

The day before, we had a torrential downpour and everything in their shelter got soaked. On the other side of the tracks was a chain link fence and all their bedding was laid out to dry on this nice dry day.

Also check out the Workshop for their clothesline.

"Oh think twice...
Oh lord, is there nothing more anybody can do
Oh lord, there must be something you can say
You can tell from the lines on her face
You can see that she's been there
Probably been moved on from every place
cause she didnt fit in there
Oh think twice..."

Wow! What an improvement! You did a great job with balancing the exposure. The changes are great and everything looks so unified. You do not have to thank me by the way, it is YOU who created the photo in the first place ;) TFS!

Hi Linda,
Very good composition and pp work. The colors are really nice and the detail and sharpness are perfect.
I don't know if this would be the case but I know of people that prefer living "in the wild" than in luxurious homes. Some people are like that...others have no choice, I guess. We have a little (or a lot) of everything in our societies...

We all give the best
Every minute of an hour
Don't think about the rest
And you all get the power
You all get the best
When everyone gets everything
And every song everybody sings..."

This photo makes me sad, but people need to be aware of how good they have it when they see this. Here is a photo my dad posted a while back on TL that I made into my desktop background to remind me I have no reason to complain about my life. http://www.treklens.com/gallery/North_America/United_States/photo102333.htm
