Julia's Smile

| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
| My niece has the smile that will light up a room. This one was captured after dance class on Saturday morning. She was happy because she had both her mother and her Aunt to herself. But then she's never met a camera that didn't love her. |

Hi Pamela...
Welcome to “TrekLens”...
You are my new neighbor for today...
Very nice for first post, colors, details are beautiful.
Very well done,
Congratulations,
George
Hi Pamela - welcome to Treklens and hope you enjoy your time here.
First bit of advice I'd mention is about TL itself. You will find people who openly praise everything you do and tell you that shots are "very well done" when, in fact, there are problems. These people are "backslappers" who want points in return. My advice is to ignore those critiques and look for honesty instead.
For this shots, I'd say you've caught a genuinely lovely smile from a pretty wee girl. I think she's a great photographic subject. The eye contact is also good.
But there are some problems with the shot. Firstly, the in-camera flash has led to that tell-tale shadow on the background. Also, there are some odd stray hairs creeping into the shot in the bottom left of the image. Finally, your neice is really quite central - an off-centre crop would be more appealling. A simple crop from the left and bottom would help both the hair and centrality issues.
Anyway, welcome again!
Hi Pamela;
lovely smile, beautiful girl
nice today's theme post;
regards
Karolina
Hello Pamela
Welcome to TL. I spotted your image had the word smile in the title and as thats the title of this weeks theme I took the liberty of adding your shot to the theme.
Keep an eye in the forums I open a theme every thursday (uk time) for members to post a specific style or titled image.
I think this shot is delightful. The catchlight (shiny parts) in her eyes are just right nice and sharp and she is looking straight into the lens. Her smile is warm and natural.
Yes you could make some slight improvments here maybe shes a tad to central and the additional hair showing is slightly distracting but you have made the effort to add notes to your posting which in my book counts for a lot.
TFS and I will see if I can do you a workshop to show how you could give small improvement to this image
kind regards Helen
