Another early morning shot from yesterday. The morning sun was coming up through the trees and some of it broke through the low leaves and lit up this mini rosebush.
Taken with the zoom racked out to get the bokeh and compression of the busy background and the f-stop fairly high to get the rose and the trailing leaf.
Shot in RAW, level adjusted a bit to bring out the green in the leaves and white on the roses, some USM for range.
Converted to jpeg, bordered, sharpened and resized for posting on TL.

Nice colors here, but I would have had WAY faster shutter speed on this, to cut some of the light down. 1/50 is way to slow and some of the petals are OE. Now the GREENS of the stem and leaves are nice, because the are darker and less light bounce off of them! and I would say, "closer....closer!" you got a super nice L series...USE THAT BABY!..... get tighter, closer, I wanna see every spec! Love the comp here!!
B-)

Hi Wilt,
The DOF is striking in this image, and the rose in the middle is perfect sharp. Excellent special composition. Like it!

A trifle overexposed IMO, but nevertheless a nice compo, Wilt. Sharpness is good, backdrop looks nice though on the right there's a fairly large "D"-spot that looks like a clone job...
Do you use Canon's DPP or Raw image task for the conversion? If so, you can easily add some electronic exposure compensation to bring out more details in the petals.
I'd consider cropping a couple of mm from the bottom, to avoid the brighter spots on the left. Minor "issue" though.
TFS, too bad we cannot smell it through the web - yet ☺^☺.

Hello Wilt
I really like the comp here.. The rose in the FG blurred but the 2nd one is sharp! Nice gray BG to complement the delicate roses!

Hello Wilt,

I notice the good light and the fine details in the focal range!
Maybe the blurry rose in front is a bit distracting, but I get your idea however...
The blurry back serves well to enhance the impact of the subject!

Greetings,
Pablo -
