[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Nine score and 16 years ago, my great great great grandfather, a Congressman by the name of Peter Neuhard, was elected to the 26th-30th Congresses, along with John Quincy Adams, and sat at this desk, which now graces my livingroom, where he consulted two vertical drawers (each 2.5 inches wide and 12 inches high). Those two drawers (one shown here) contained all the laws of the United States at that time...nearly 200 years ago. Today, some 30000 square meters are needed to house the laws of the land! But is the land any more lawful or any more law-abiding than back then because of the ever-increasing legislation? I don't think so! In this year of a presidential election, it seems opportune to reflect on where the US Congress is going and to try a little harder to get the Congress "back to basics."

Interesting how it is called UNSTATES. Thanks for the history most interesting. The shot looks a little kind of unreal. Was this done on Macro? What kind of camera are you using? Could be a bit of flash glare here. but like what you are saying by your picture and words. Good thoughts.
