Philly Subway

| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
I was going to school at Drexel University in Philadelphia and rode the subway to there every day. For about a month or so, I decided it might be fun to take my camera and 50mm f/1.4 lens and take some candids. I was always scared I would get mugged so I usually kept the camera under my jacket, out of sight. If I saw a picture I wanted, I would quickly unzip my jacket, focus, compose, click, and be on my way in a few seconds. For this picture, I waited on the platform for a few trains to go by and just got lucky when this man stuck his head out to see why the train handn't left yet.
Shot with a F5 on 1600 T-max, I think. |

Great timing, Neil. For a shoot and run, you composed the picture nicely. The DOF looks great as well.
Keep on snappin'!

great subway scene in b/w, good shot with the man in the train peeking out.
Ha, I was just in Philadelphia shooting this week and I had the same concerns about getting mugged and someone taking my camera. I'm glad to see that I wasn't the only one who felt that way. But about the photo, under the circumstances, you did a great job. Very nice timing. I like the inquisitive look on the man's face as he's looking out the train. Good job here.
