This is Clarence the Ball Python, I've had him for a pet for about six years. Ball Pythons are the most docile of domesticated snakes they are very slow moving and friendly unless food is present. Food by the way consists of Mice, rats and even small chickens and birds. He eats once every three weeks and can live for up to 50 years.
While taking this shot I held Clarence with my left hand and took the picture with my right. I mainly used the flash to darken the background and to help to reduce blur caused by any camera shake.
PP: Increased contrast a bit, sharpened and cropped. |

Hello Dennis!
If I ever go visit you my friend, remind me to ask you if Clarence had her meal recently (^_^). Superb catch , obviously Clarence is not scared by your flash.
I am like Indiana Jones , I do not like snakes much (^_^).
But I love your shot ,m with this narrow DOF and focus on its head. and dark BG. Well done !
Cheers!
Robert

Lol. Nice to see Honey and Cooper have a companion, Dennis ;o) Nice shot too, excellent sharpness and the flash is very well controlled, especially in Clarence's eye.

Clarence is beautiful Dennis! Nice shot using the flash... very well controlled as stated earlier. The details are wonderful and I really like the reflections on his scales. Beautiful snake! Well done!
Love and Peace always
Kevin
BTW: did you move to York? I thought you lived further north in the mountains... I may be medication mistaken
