Too many dead
 |
|
| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
A memorial for the men and women that have lost their lives in Iraq. Each flag represents a lost life, I will post the entire memorial next to give everyone an idea of how many people have died in this war.
PP: Converted to black and white in the channel mixer21,42,37 constant of -1. In the channel mixer layer I erased the black and white leaving the color for the flag. Then sharpened and resized for TL. |

Hello Dennis,
That's going to be quite a bit of flags for each lost life.
Nice desat and the red, white and blue looks amazing contrasted with the black and white.
I would say not to have the flag centered but it does bring major emphasis to your point with the photo.
I still see the flag being offset to the left for my brain does not seem to want to let go of non-centered items.
Anyway, I like the message and the tones of the photo.
Nice clarity as well.
take care,
~michael~
Nice photography Dennis! But remember that this war is SO different from others. We lost MORE men in ONE DAY at Normandy that in this war the last few years. It is the price we pay for freedom. These men have volunteered to give their lives to us. "Greater love hath no man, that to lay down his life for another"
An incredibly honorable post!
Thanks!
Linda

I think centering the one coloured flag works well here, Dennis. It "leads" the other flags, and I think desat works just fine.
Can't agree more with your title... but will refrain from commenting on your government...

Hi,
Selective color gives a nice effect. Maybe a landscape orientation would show more flags and create a bigger impact.
And about the war, yes too many dead (mostly non US people by the way) for all the wrong reasons.

Pedro
