Took this shot while waiting for a cab in New York City. I decided to convert this one because it was getting dark and there wasn't much color except for the traffic light. The view is just west of Central Park.

PP: converted to black and white with the channel mixer 25,35,40 constant 0. In a separate layer exposed the red traffic signal with the eraser tool. Sharpened and resized for Tl.

Beautiful shot! I also like the overall idea leaving everything B&W except the red traffic light.

Hey Dennis,

Great shot. Aside from the darkness of the picture, I am quite impressed with the range you got. Did you use some special lens? I also like the gradation you have with the sky, quite beautiful. TFS, Jerome

I hope to have a short visit in the Big Apple one day, Dennis... must be an impressive city. Meanwhile, I'll content myself with looking at shots like this one. TFS.

Hello Dennis!

Daily street scene . The B&W is a good choice. I am sure there is no difference with the original shot. City streets are often very dark and colorless.
great idea to keep the red light.

I hope to go in NY one day ...
Thanks for sharing

I love this one Dennis, very nice. With the red light standing there, it gives a nice effect to the picture.
Best regards
Guy

I like this one a lot better than the cropped version. The perspective is better and i like the highlighting of the red light. Great photo!
