What attracts me here is the mood. I like the light in the window, but the darkness inside the house is a presence of its own – both enticing and repellent. Scary place!
Great posting, pity it was abandoned like that.

Great spooky story, very odd that everything would be left behind like that, and even odder about the camera.
Anyway, nice capture; it's an equal parts disturbing, interesting and somehow sad.
Good use of the available lighting as well as the perspective you were allowed to have. ;)

Hi Linda,

If walls could only talk. I'm sure there's a terrific story here, and you have captured the mystery quite well. I like the contrast of the bright sun coming in the window illuminating the room. I would have probably contacted public records to try and get the story behind the photo.

My motel has internet! A spooky experience with your battery. I've read that often, haunted houses are the scene of murders, sudden violent accidents, or suicides. Good sharpness & contrast. Tfs!

There is a covered bridge in Vermont where the camera will do the same thing and it is reknowned as a haunted bridge. So perhaps your house was haunted after all, would perhaps account for their leaving everything behind.At least something unforseen drove them away.

The farm I worked on had an old building just like this Linda, furniture and all. Nice tones, some OE from the windows but not all that annoying and well composed. Love those banisters and the posts. TFS,

I guess the ghost that haunts this house has a problem with camera. Some people have continued to damage the property. This was back in December, probably a lot more of these around the country today. Really sad condition, well captured in the natural light.

maybe it is really haunted piano :) that's why the piano were left there.. probably the unseen people love to play it and won't let anyone take it :D

very moody.. looks like the kind of documentary they took from the series "Ghosthunters"

I really can't believe that people just walked off and left this piano behind! By looking at the staircase it looks like at one time it was a very nice old house. I really like the lighting and color tones. This gets my imagination going...I think I've watched too many tv shows :) Have a fun day!!

Still hearing the beep? In that case you have to adjust the volume of your hearing device LOL.
Great haunted shot. Yeah it remembers me at my days as a kid living in the centre of the town were several houses were haunted, that was the ultimate (and dangerous) playground. Nowadays you won't see it anymore, everything what is unoccupied will be destroyed with in a month. Anyway a great image nice light and an interewsting composition!
