[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
A woman's 8+ boat cruises toward the finish at the Head of the Ohio Regatta, a large competition of crew rowing teams. There are nine in the boat; eight rowers and a coxswain, who is in charge of the boat, particularly its navigation and steering. Here, the coxswain sits at the far left of the frame.

I shot this looking more or less directly into the sun since it was creating such amazing highlights on the water. I converted to b&w, then added a blue color monochrome treatment to change the feel a bit.

Hello Sandy,
A simple but elegant composition to my liking. Some viewers may comment on the water sheen as overexposed. But for me, the wide spectrum of exposure is attractive and showcases the well positioned boat. The blues look great! Well done.

Hi Sandy,

I enjoy photos with silhouettes. This is an unusual one with the rowing team. The blues are magnificent and the sparkling of the water adds an extra "oomph" (I couldn't find the right word, so "oomph" worked)to the photo. Original and creative. :) Lisa

Nicely done! I like the cool, glistening blueness that emphasizes the watery scene and mood. The composition features the horizontal contrasts well and gives room for the boat to glide into. Good work:)
