[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I lost my Uncle Butch to diabetes the other week. It is a terrible disease that took his quality of life before his taking his life. He served his country for 37 years in the Vermont national guard. While I mourn his loss I know he is with his loved ones who preceded him in death. We recieved 8 inches of snow the day before the funeral. I thought this image was very emotional. The preacher is standing next to the casket about to talk. All I did was ad a border. I considered some text but thought it would detract from the mood of the picture. He leaves his wife, step children, and step grandchildren none of who were treated as "step".

Though all is dead
and covered in snow
new life but lurks below
awaiting the first blush of spring

This is indeed an image of sadness and loss...you captured a somber mood.
Sorry for your loss.

A very emotional image indeed, Eric. So cold and sorrowful.
Love your poetry.
My condolences,
Freddie

Hello Eric
You definitely captured the mood, the flag shows us he is a veteran, and the lady mourning makes it a very touching scene.
I am keeping this one in my favorites.

Another great tribute to your Uncle. The black and white of the scene in contrast with the colorful U.S. flag is something I am sure was very moving during the service.

My condolenses for your Uncle. Lisa
