| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
On a Southern Cruise we traveled to Puerto Rico. On a very windy and sunny day we were leaving San Juan Harbor and came out fairly close to El Morro, the fort guarding the entrance to the harbor.
Imposing in it's own right, the combination of strong late afternoon sunlight--about 3:25pm, heavy wind and strong seas really makes it seem somewhat impenetrable.
Some gradient work in Photoshop to work the sky versus the water, cropping actually done in the zoom lens--about 165mm here @ ISO 400--a bit of sharpening and some color darkening and saturation boost.
(exif data somehow got clobbered in some of the early software I used at the time.
Small addendum--Shot in RAW and converted to tif actually, then to jpeg for TL. (why .tif, just for the hell of it. :o) I now save RAW originals and make jpeg copies at mimimum compression) |
