While sitting in my sun porch yesterday I noticed these beautiful bubbles acending into the air over the fence of one of my neighbors. The sunlight glistening on the image of my own childhood took me back suddenly to my younger years with a much smaller bubble wand that mostly dripped all over me.....
I had my camera by my side and walked over and peeked over the fence and saw this wonderful sight. "Hey neighbor" I called, "OK to get some shots of this?" "Please do" was his response, very much out of breath from running with the huge wand.
I know it is a bit out of focus due to the fast motion, but these are REAL bubbles, made by a REAL Dad for the little girl he loves.
The wonderment she shows is priceless...... I was glad I was there to freeze frame it for him.
**************************
Tech:
1. Didn't have time to consider the law of thirds so just shot, trying to catch the bubbles, baby and Daddy.
2. Cropped
3. Adj exposure setting
4. Adj contrast and midtone levels
5. Resized in 4 steps
6. Locked photo to painted blank canvas
7. Applied signature and logo

Thanks to all of you who view my photos. I am making a special effort to give a critique back and have been thrilled with some of the beautiful photos in other galleries........:O)

Uau! Beautiful registration Kathleen!
Beautiful colors, clearness, beautiful child!
The bubbles in the air, it combines with the context of the theme!
Congratulations!
David

I'm Forever Blowing Bubbles"...Remeber the old song? This youngster apprently is very intrigued by the new phenomonon! I wonder what she thought when she caught one! I love the prismatic effect of the light in the bubbles. The colors are supurb!

A lovely candid picture of the innocence of childhood, Kat. The expression of the child's face is perfect - such concentration. It's these little moments that make the day.

Take care, David.

Great moment you captured here. I think the focus is fine and the colors are great as well. Really cool how many bubbles there are and that they're all in tact. Nice work.

Good one Kathleen, very good colors, I like how the bubbles are around the baby, not on her. Good composition. Regards, Iris

Hi Kathleen ,
A fantastic live-action shot you got here. I really can't find any fault here. One very minor thing would be the frame. Nice title.

Fantastic shot Kathleen! All worked out just great for you and your cam ... And I disagree about the focus - I can't see any fault in here.

Compliments!

Very nice capture,Knight Kat! The bubbles are fabulous! Very nice daily life action photo taken! It is refreshing to see that kind of pictures on TL! Michel

Terrific shot Kat, great composition, I had better get a few tips from you as my first granddaugter is expected anyday now.

Peter

Those bubbles are almost as big as she is Kat. Small children are amazed with simple pleasures, it's a shame that when we grow older evrything gets complicated.

John

This fantastic.
Any father will run himself totally into the ground for his daughter. And at that age they are so easy to keep happy.
Brings back many memories of my own 14 year old...

Fantastic Shot Kat..the bubbles look amazing..and the little girls face priceless..
Great colours too.
Thanks for sharing.
Regards
Dawn.

Ooooh! This is so cute...all those bubbles. Lovely idea Kat. You captured the moment just at the right time with the little girls arms up as if she is trying to catch one of the bubbles. A real happy shot. I like how the bubbles are coming out diagonally in the composition. Amazing how you captured the irredescent colours of the bubbles. Very, very well done.

I'm not surprise at all that photo is from you. You have a talent to show the simplicity of life in all her beauty! I like that action! It's full of emotion!

And I was so sure those bubbles were add-ons courtesy of PhotoShop or something. I still am in fact. Just goes to show how spoiled we have become by the magic tools at our disposal. We can't even accept the real thing when presented on a silver platter. Is it really the real thing? A lovely image in any case - and a darn good snapshot.

Great capture! Love the vivid colors too! TFS!

ADORABLE Kathy, just adorable. Who cares about rueld whna you make captures liek this. Sometimes we just have to forgett all about them as applying them might make us miss the moment. You woudl for sure do that here. You captured it just in the right time. This is really cute.

Such a sweet shot!!! I used to love those bubbles when i was a kid! We (me and my sisters) did it all the time with dish soap :)
Great image Kathleen. Candid, light and very very colourful, as chilhood should be
Great job!

take care, Stef

Kathleen, The bubbles are great, the colors in them set them off so well.
Kathleen

Wonderful photo, Kathleen! The composition is quite strong, with the strong diagonal line of bubbles running through the image. The fence and tree act to frame the girl and her father. Colors are bright and fun and the girl's expression of wonderment is priceless. Bravo!

Bonjour Kathleen!

What a winning photograph! Have you considered sending it in to some magazine? a contest?
Your neighbor must be so thankful. What a priceless gift.
