During the peak of the raging hurricane, I was barricaded in darkness with only a battery operated radio for information from the outside world that had turned upside down.
Claustrophobia and curiosity overcame caution. With camera in hand, I carefully opened the closed front door of my home. I have a heavy glass storm door that was barricaded with filled bags of sand to protect my home from waters from flooding.
My eyes quickly noticed these raindrops and debris blown against the glass. I placed my camera in Macro mode and focused on the drops, putting the furious anger of nature into an out-of-focus background and shot the gentle raindrops in contrast. And then I closed the door....
It may be only my imagination, but I see at least 6 drops in heart shapes......

Again, I am humbled by the many notes to me, both by email and in critique of my previous post, of best wishes from the members here at Treklens. I have emphasized from the beginning that we are a family here and this is proof of it. I am still in a state of shock and confusion over what has happened here and continue with my part of the cleanup and repairs. A sincere "thank you" to each of you from my heart to yours.......:O)

Kathleen, in the midst of all that calamity that came upon you, somehow, you found some optimism deep inside and presented it so nicely in this work. It makes me feel as the sun is just about to come up behind those crystal clear drops.

Great mood in this photo.

compliments!

TFS this photo, best wishes....

You always find beauty in everything! Not only do I see shapes of hearts, I also see shapes of butterflies and seagulls. Such neat displays of nature at its most beautiful in the midst of havoc. You surely excel at macro! Yu always see the positive side of everything.

At the moment it's raining right now at my window, it's look like your photography. I really like the ambiance, the colors and of course the frame.

You truly do find beauty in everything, even during a storm. Great macro of the waterdroplets on the storm door Kat. Well focused and sharp. I like the green frame.

Hi Kathleen,
You must be brave in situations as these. Nature is just unpredictable sometimes. I hope you are doing well, and are safe. I have to say this photo is a great representation of your emotions. Very creative, very well done.
And with your words...It couldn't have been any better.
Take Care

Hi Kathleen

I see them too. Excellent us of a narrow dof with good sharpness & diffuse lighting. A good informative note. Well done!

You have had to deal with many of storms in the past two years Kat. I hope all is well.

So... If i understand... You make your heart very discret to let the place to all these little hearts. I enjoy mostly the ligt texture on these drops but i see some hearts shape too... But it's abstract i little.. We need to take our poetry eyes to see them! :o)

Really a stunning idea to take a pic of the water drops. You really have the ability to se a pic in every situation... I learn from you.

I hear on TV that the storm is going to cost the world $20B... Nobody can measure the trauma...
Good luck on your side of the world

Hi and hope all is well.
This is truly a wonderful capture. And in moments like this it just gives us hope......

Very delicate photograph, Kathleen. The colours are very gentle, despite the raging weather condition.
I can see the heart and I'm sure you needed to see it during those dreadful hours, and there you are!

Oustanding shot Kathleen! Our thoughts and prayers are with you! Be well!

You've created an artpiece from a typical rainy day! Marvelous shot and great frame.

Hi Kathleen, I really love this one and also the green colour of the subject and the frame add so much to it.

Very well seen. Take care, Yan
