Ok...First constructive criticism..don't come upstairs and shoot me...on second thought,....since you do my paycheck I better be nice eh? HAHAHA! Ok. First: You can post up to 800 pixels width and so I would take FULL advantage of that.
Be sure and check off on your profile that we can see EXIF data, it helps us learn what you did!
Also, it's best to have your subject walking INTO a shot, rather than OUT OF.
There is a bit of OE on her face. Sometimes when it's sunny F16 is a good setting. Mostly however I use F7.1 for sharpness! This is super sharp, nice DOF (Depth of Field) here. Hey..maybe we can go on a shoot sometime...I got some killer places in Houston to take pics!

Hi Ellen, & a big welcome to TL!
Perfect use of a shallow dof with great color & saturation. There is some slight oe (overexposure) on the girls face. Highlights tend to draw immediate attention, so it's important to expose for the highlights, & you can brighten the shadows, in post processing. The tight framing doesn't bother me, although it's usually a good idea to leave some 'breathing space' around your main subject. Here, I would leave more space at left, for her to 'walk' into. Good sharpness & symmetry between the girl & wagon. Tfs!

Hi Ellen:)
This time I have to say: - this is not a very good photo.
One thing I like it is DOF.
About composition: you "cut" her legs and top of a head... also trolley is cut it hmmm not good. I think tide is OK with close-ups but in this case simply doesn't work. One more thing - definitely OE on model face.
Nice theme so I like to suggest to you: please try to do this shot again:)

HI Ellen, I like your idea with the rustic looking cart and the little girl. I think I would have liked to have seen more background to show the entire body of the little girl. The face is a bit too bright... This happens to me too. Darn sun!!
Welcome to TL! You'll really learn so much about photography, visit the world at your computer, and make new friends! Welcome.

Hi Ellen,
Welcome aboard.
A lot has been said, so I won't repeat it all. The one thing though, at least that seems to for me be missing, is that if you were able then, or in the future, to come around on the shot--in other words, assuming you're at 6 o'clock now in terms of the image, come around to 8 o'clock, so the girl is coming a bit more directly at you--that Point of View (PoV) would have been closer to what I think you were going for with the crop and you could have gotten the girl and the wagon full on, and added motion and depth.
Nice basic image though, keep it up.
Thanks for sharing,
Wilt
