This IS a night shot, 30 second exposure of the lake up in Ferndale, Arkansas. I love going out at late night and taking experimental shots. Me and a friend set out for an hour and played around with the cameras. We even got to giggling as we zoomed in on our shots looking for BIGFOOT!

I took this shot and processed it in Tungsten and Neutral to kill the orangy, greenish stuff that happens with those amber lights at night. I liked the results, the trees were green instead of orange. It was nice blah blah....

So then I tried converting that to IR processing which made it really nice.... and then I thought, let's colorize BLUE...(yes, I speak to myself as if I was a group! HA!) Now we like this! And that's all I did to this shot. I love the mirror effect of the lake.

I appreciate all the helpful critiques on the horse yesterday...sometimes we are blinded by our own "agenda's" and often don't see things the way they really are. Sometimes it takes someone ELSE to see something we missed! After all, they are looking at it with unbiased eyes!

The key is to be willing to listen, without going into hysterics, look at the facts and take it in...take what you like and leave the rest. To not take offense and let the other person have their feelings and ideas, after all, they MAY be right...
B-)
Have a great day!
Linda

Hi Linda,
This is what I call a typical "WHOW"-picture!
Superb blue tones and reflections.
The composition is great too.
Well done!

TFS and greetings from Netherlands,
Adri

WHOA, this is cool. It almost looks like something from a dream or something. Its like ice, and I love the black sky and the clearly visible stars. This is absolutely stunning! I could see this on a canvas on a wall or something.

Very nice,

-zeb

Very good Linda - the blue treatment beats the orange flood lights.. Great reflection and the picture is banded nicely into 1/3rds.. Not really sure how I'd even try to improve on this one.. Except maybe a smaller aperture, but I guess that depends on how dark it really was and trying to keep the ISO at reasonable levels..

Nice night shot
David

Hi Linda,

Lovely effect, nice reflection and detail in the sky, is that a snarling beast with yellow eyes behind the fence!. Still waiting for my new 11-16 lens, hope I get it for the Scottish photo shoot at the weekend.

Hi, Linda,
the PP on this is outstanding. It looks as though the trees are covered in snow. I love just the two colors and the reflections are wonderful. The stars add a beautiful touch, too. Great experiment! Many thanks and warmest regards,
Shelly

It's fairylike composition, Linda! Fantastic water like a mirror and amazing blue tones. I like it so much.

Hi Linda.

Very much work on this one but the result is simply beautiful. Looks like an enchanted forest in some dreams...

So rather than the famous Patterson-Gimlin film we can soon expect the Unger Bigfoot photo?
I like the tones in this shot - very moody and mysterious and the reflections in the water add a nice symmetry.
Thanks for sharing
Mark

Hi Calamity,
You did it again! Great bluish nocturnal superb sharp and those twinkling stars are a superb detail. Can you please explain for me: "I took this shot and processed it in Tungsten and Neutral to kill the orangy"? What is Tungsten? Anyway great posting my dear!
