~The Long Shadow of the Light~

Does the light set between the shadows or does the shadows set between the light? Or neither!
The shadow seems to take precedent within this image even as our eyes move with the color that we probably prefer. Yet, the shadow supports the light in this instance. The shadow is dark and thick all the while butting up against the light and creating contrast for the light to be bolder in it's givings.
Or is it all the other way around? The light supports and gives the shadows its strength of presence. Making the shadow loom darker than it would otherwise be.
For me the presence of both and their characteristics make them equal in their display of complimenting each other.
******
I walked into our spare bedroom in the later morning to see the these great long looming shadows or the presence of the light painiting the multicolored bedspread through the vertical blinds from the late morning sun. For me it was actually quite a nice display. I tried to capture this as best I could and had some full shots of the window and bed in composition. However, I gravitated towards this shot for right now. At least until another may move into my conscious on another day.

pp-crop some. Saturation for the colors in the bedspread. Partial luko's usm. Small amount of warming filter with an auto color after for another form of blend. Added frame and signature.
Thank You,
Michael

Beautiful!
Perfect game of light and shadows and colours.
Perfect composition that gives strong feeling of space. Very pleasent to the eye.
Bravo!

Hi Michael, it seems very hopeful somehow (I even don't know where that came from). Lovely warm colors, and the sun rays make it hopeful. Love the new signature, BTW.

Marleen
out of greens already !

Great shot! Great perspective, and again one of your wonderful ideas with light and shadows. Well done Michael.

Hi Michael!
I love the PoV on this photo..
The shadows guide the eye all over the bedspread..
The framing is nice too.
Thanks for sharing.
Cheers!

Clever picture.
Congratulations

Very good! The diagonal lines on the pic works well and your thinking about fits together...
Well seen

very beautiful observation and well captured.

Hi Michael,
this is so well spotted...the pattern made by the shadows is really very pleasing to look at, and I love the way you cropped to make the shadow lines spread from the upper part,
beautiful!
regards,
M:)

Nice capture. I like the opposing lines of the shadows and the bedspread, the sense of perspective, as well as the colour combinations. Nice photo!

It is a curious mix of diverse forms - may be that's why its harmony is so intriguiing. You have squares of mattress going in one direction while the converging shadows on the other. Again... there are solid dark shadows broken in by bright melange of floral surface. Yet overall it is so soothing.
You have to have very keen eyes to catch it. Congrats for doing that Michael.
Great post. TFS.

Playing with light, shadows and colourful patterns to create a very abstract pictures. I like how the colours just pop-out at you in between the black lines on the bedspread. I also like the fact that the bedspread is not truly tightly flat on the bed but looks like someone has sat on it recently so it has all kind of folds into it. It creates almost a third dimension to this picture. Bravo!

This one Michael is an image of antology, all is excellent, I do not have anything to say only
cheer Michael .

This is simply great Michael!
I love it.
Bravo.

Everything is just perfect: technically speaking it's well exposed, sharp, contrasty enough, and compositionwise it's simple with oppposite diagonal lines made by the shadow/light and seams in the bedspread, efficient, and it has an abstract feel. But over all we can feel the heat of the light falling on the bedspread and the cool atmosphere produced by the shadows. A pic that I would have liked to have taken myself.... Good PP work, efficient but does not show.
