Yahooo....! An upload!
My apologies for my absence from TL. Damn I missed this place and its community.....although I visit almost each day for just some quick looks. Trying to get the groove on again....!

Well, while having some extra hours from work, I went in late on this morning. So in turn I had the chance to catch this image as the late morning light was coming through the vertical blinds in my office and laying some shadows/light across the desk of my other Mac. The way the light was hitting the mouse was enough to go and grab the camera and move through several shots before I had to stop for an interruption. Then came back to the scene and it was still ongoing with the shadow/light from the day. At first the photos were of the natural setting of how I found the mouse. Then for better comp and angles I started positioning the mouse and cord. The angle was somewhat difficut for the edge of the desk is at the top right corner and did not really have much room for error. Just to the left of the mouse the desk drops down for a place for the keyboard. So I only had this small area to get this captured. Well, I hoped it worked for this image.
Michael

pp-small crop to top and bottom. JP's bw conversion. Added white border and black stroke on the image. No noise reduction only partial luko's Unsharp Mask.
Signature added and I hope you enjoy this image.

Nice to see you around Michael.
And sucha nice post! I do love the shadows falling on the desk and all those grey tones. Very appealing comp (it looks like an add ;)) and a very creative way to show simple things, elegantly.

Well done!!
Hope to see you around more often

take care, Stef :))

Welcome back, Michael ! Oh those shadows again from those blinds, Love the shadows and the light, and great comp !

M.H.

Spotted you right-on (even without the name mentioned in the gallery, which I turned off to be more objective)
Good to C U (or at least your work) back on TL.
These blinds are a reoccuring theme in your work. The combination of reflection+transparancy is a great feature of this McMouse which naturely leads to tingling photographers' fingers ;-) The soft finish of your desktop gives a kind of floating effect.
(can you explain "late morning light" to me ? ;-) Is that prior to the early midday-light ?)
TFS Michael

Good to see you again, Michael, and you come back with one of your specialty: play with light & shadow. Simple composition but so well done. I like the curve in the cable of the mouse and obviously all of those diagonal lines of the shadows. Excellent!

Sorry, I have run out of goodies for the day!

Well, we've waited long, but the wait was worthwhile! Great image, in the spur of the moment. And the best images come that way. You really have an eye for lights and shadows. Do you wear special glasses? Thanks and nice to see you again!

Hi Michael,
nice to see your post again!
great play with shadows and light, love the diagonal composition. I use JP's conversion technique now myself, it gives good results.
well done!

Hi Michael

Good shot of the mouse, with an excellent tonal range in this superb b&w. Well done!

I am just coming through quickly on this sunday, and very happy to see your work.
Well done with this very transparent "mulot" (french word for mouse).
Nice evocation of this object we spent a lot of time with.

HELLO§ I really enjoy the way you play with light and shadows. It's a very professional work. I enjoy the way you turn common things into a piece of art. It's amaizingly done :)
CONGRATULATIONS.
Luci

i love the light here
good play with shadows, well composed shot Michael :)

Hi Michael.
For me this photograph is one moments pleasant. The provision of the cord in form of "S" and the UFO which closes give a beautiful construction of image. Splendid work. In a friendly way

Excellent is the idea and the realisation. A very good quality of b&w shot.

You really are a master with those black and white shots. Judging from the top quality of the shot one would think you had a top range SLR. But that only makes the input from the artist all the greater. I guess you just have the "eye".
