| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
My wife and I spent the day at Epcot around this time last year during an international flower show. I spotted these growing outside one of the attractions and shot a few frames.
The true color of the flowers is actually the pink-ish blossom at lower right. I wanted to make it stand out, so in Photoshop I created a new channel-mixer layer, converted to black & white, adjusted the opacity to 70%.
I then added a layer mask and painted in the lower right flower at 100% to bring back its full color. I also painted in the leaves at 80% so they weren't so "dirty" looking.
Sharpened slightly. |

Hi Robert,
I thought that was an unusual colour for a petunia, pity they didn't produce them in this shade. I like your idea it is superb. The quality of the the image is fabulous too. Nice sharpness.
Cheers,
Debbie
Hi Robert, I like the sharpness of this image and the way that you've picked out that single flower. It has a lovely vibrant colour to it!
