This is the same home I posted yesterday showing the top floor destroyed and the inspirational words "I Live". I wrote that this person inspired me with their keen gift of the joy of life. I don't know if these fish statues were a part of their home or if they were washed there from the 30 ft. tidal wave....I only know they stand in the sand in front of this destroyed home and they are decorated to the "gills" with all sorts of colored Mardi Gras beads that glittered happily in the bright sunshine in stark contrast to the chaos around it. There is a hysterical knitted ski cap on one of them. There is a gold belt around one's waist A bouquet of bright red flowers lies nearby.
If there ever existed proof of the humor and resilience of the human spirit, THIS is it!!
A true Celebration of the Gift of Life.....

Tech:
1. Original photo, no crop.
2. Adjusted brightness and contrast
3. Resized using 4 steps
4. Sharpened using Unmask tool
5. Chose simple frame and texted signature and added logo.

I have learned Acceptance from this scene. It means to me that you can find the serenity within to "let go of the past" with its mistakes, terrors, and regrets and move into the future with a new perspective, and to appreciate the opportunity to be given a second chance....... Always smiling......

Thanks for your kindness and your encouragement and may you always remember to smile.....:O)

What a "fishy" but fun scene Kat. ;o) The contrast between the devistation and light-heartedness is refreshing. A good lesson for us all to hold loosly to our earthly possessions and keep a firm grip on that which will keep us through life's storms; faith in the Lord, hope, trust, prayer, sense of humor, character, perseverance, love, friendships. Thanks for sharing Kat and God's best,

Tim

yea, good photo there kathleen, the composition is very nice.. and i like the natural lighting effect so much... and you really caught me this time, i spend few minutes to find your logo!! very well placed! haha..tfs

How neat that people can find humor in destruction. However the mounted fish come to be, the decoration was added by someone who has a sense of humor. I would tend to believe the same person or persons set the fish up in ther positions too. Anyway, it made for an interesting subject to photograph. Thanks for bringing us to your corner of the world.

At first I thought the sand was snow and thought, where does she find snow down there? But then I recognised the house and the "grafiti". There's a slightly overexposed feel to this. I guess it comes from all that white. Very nice thoughts you have to go it.

Wow, I like it so much.

Mmmm :) Well, í found my e-mail full of tenderness and care and got this strange feeling that i was a bit distant of the TL family. And now when i come here again i just found out what were the feelings that were missing when we just look at the celebrations of life around :)
Oh, Kat you are sooooo sweet :) Thanks for your concern but dont wory nothing wrong with me :) I guess i´m starting to get alergic to my computer, hehehe ;)) i mean, i work with it manny times and i´m through a time where i just run away from him the more i can ;)) well, and i lost all my images and my camera is resting for a while too, so, i guess all this together make me be a bit away:) but only writing you and the others and geting again on this wonderful atmosphere we breed around here, just makes something boiling inside to get back as soon as i can :))
Take good care.

I agree with Per, Kat - I too thought this was snow. It's really nice to see a 'sequel' to your previous shot... Well done. TFS.

Sad story for these courageous people. The emerging decorated dolphins are very attractive.
Good shot and TU for showing and telling.

I though the first time I see the picture, the fishes were in the snow! I was suprised, I didn't understand. It is sand instead, not the same. Nice picture, I like it.
Best regards
Guy

This is truly very amusing to see. I guess the owner of the house was so glad to be alive, he/she adorned the fish. The photo looks a little pale though. It may be all that white sand. Perhaps you could saturate it a bit for some more colour.
Your notes are inspiring, and it makes me stop and think for a while. Thanks for that Kat.

A very fortunate person that can look at lifes misfortunes and keep a happy face.
Thank you Kat for this picture, I have tried to let go of the past and move to the future, but it did not work for me and my princess. Kat, please look at my
INTRO, I left a message there for you. Sorry it had to be this way, I did not have a way to contact you. I will always remember you and your kindness.
Bea (my last smiley face is for you):)

The fish getting ready for Mardi Gras, what a great sense of humor. Thanks for sharing. It does show that we all have things to be thankful for, even during the worst of circumstances.

Marleen

Sorry out of points

Another amazing shot Kathleen. A lot of resilience in the face of trouble. Very nice work, TFS :-)

Another funny, this is America, I think...
I lie the tight composition of this picture, also the light is very good. And I thought it was snow on the bottom, but....it's America !
