One of many beautiful types of flowers grown at Sunken Gardens in St. Petersburg, Florida. One of the oldest tourist attractions in the state (around long before Disney World), it is actually an ancient sinkhole in which gardens were planted below street level. The admission price is quite reasonable, and it's usually a bit cooler a dozen feet below ground level, plus the towering trees providing shade, it can all be very pleasant on a sunny afternoon.

Hi Robert

Nice PP work. I like the border in the frame.

Keep it up.

Felix

Hello Robert!
Nice colours and lovely frame in your composition!
Excellent done!
Lili

Considering it's Florida I am surprised this sinkhole doesn't get flooded ;P I used to live in Florida but I never had the opportunity to visit this garden, it looks beautiful. Anyhoo, very nice natural colors and really good clarity and focus on this. The vertical framing works to emphasize the shape of the overall flower, and draws balance between the pink flowers and the green leaves and stems. Really beautiful lighting with the spots of overexposed backlighting near the top. It gives the shot a warm and dreamy atmosphere. Very good post-processing allowing the flower to pop out of the frame, literally ;) And I think you did a good job with placing this off-center. Hmmm, I am wondering if perhaps a darker or less blue frame would have worked to make this pop out more? Because I find the blue in the frame matches a bit too much the cool tones of the leaves near the left, but that could just be my taste. Another great shot, TFS!

Hi Robert:
Great capture with details and good framing here too...

Lovely flower and great idea for framing. I'm suprised at how well the blue frame goes with the photo.

Hi Bob,
Only the photo itself is a nice macro, but nothing extraordinary. Which makes it special is the frame. I like this style of framing, should like to do something like this myself, but I'm afraid I don't have software (I have HP Image Zone 5.0, Adobe Photoshop CS2 and Ulead Photoimpact 12 full versions) or at least I don't handle them so well I believe that I do... Shame on me. But hats off to my friend Mr. Harrison for this.

Hi Robert,
As many times as I've been to florida, I've never been to the sunken gardens, interesting idea, and I to am amazed it doesn't get flooded...:o) Nice work with the out of the box frame...:o) TFS
