~Wish You Were Here~

My best friend Pete when we met in St.Petersburg at the beginning of July with my other great friends William, Robin, Shawna and my love Melissa. A snapshot of another side of me, Pete. We have known each other for more than 15yrs and we are both Capricorns with our Birthdays about 4 days apart.
He and is girlfriend are currently making plans to move down here to Florida where William and I reside. Pete is back in Indiana.
Hence the title "Wish You Were Here" plus going back to the old days with lots of Pink Floyd Listening.

The shot: I liked the look of just overall calmness and happiness on Pete's face. So I bent down to get the upshot pov with the blue sky and clouds behind him. Unfortunately, I underexposed the shot and it was a little more hazy than I had wanted. So I moved into this direction with just playing with levels for sort of a high key look and I ended up with this liking the overall lightness feeling of the coloring.
Thanks for listening,
Michael

Beautiful portrait,Michael! I like the soft colors and the pp work done! Excellent composition! Artistic and creative shot! Michel

Nice portrait and good treatment, Michael! I like the background sky, very soft and airy, but there might be a bit too much on the left side. Matter of taste I would say. But otherwise, a fine shot that your friend should frame!

But were is it? Here for you is away for me. But if you tell me i'm away... i will see no! I'm here!! Ho please... Make it stop! :o)It have a good preacher style in somewhere.. Or astral trip.. Or just trip :o) FLying in the clouds...
WOuld you say Pink Floyd from the sixties or tangerine dream from the sixties can better come with that image? I like it!

gotta give ya thumbs-up for the Floydian reference
the high key result and ppwork are quite nice too

very cool shot Michael! oh and i love that song... :-) that will be so nice for you having your friend near again.. and this is a great tribute! love the composition and that slightly hazy feeling.. i think it suggests very well the feeling of remembering old friends and good times in that kina hazy 'halcyon days' way :-)

well done!

take care,
Ayda

Love it, Michael !

Very interesting portrait of your friend with an unusual pose from underneath. I am not certain I like how you have deleted the details of his shoulders as he looks like he only has a head floating in the clouds. But that is just me being picky again. Otherwise, I love the expression of contendment you have captured. The rest of the treatment is wonderful. Bravo!

hi michael..nice to see you around again.. nice photo.. the composition and the angle is very interesting... and i like the post-processing that made this thing looks so expressive.. nice job!!!

A very impressive gallery, Michael:)
