Much to my delight, the wildlife was abundant and tame in the park we stayed in. They were very obviously well cared for also!
The raccoons were the clowns that waddled out just at dark to entertain us campers for the cost of an occassional animal cracker tossed their way. They were also my favorites since I had raised two small babies to adulthood and had them as pets for 10 years or so. I believe I was nine years old when my Dad brought the little tiny babies to me and taught me how to feed and care for them. But, that is another story.....
I found this photo amusing and typical of the raccoons that I know. The object in the air is an animal cracker that a camper tossed in the crowd and this guy was lucky enough to catch it. As a footnote, the park sees to the animals making certain they are healthy and cared for....

Tech:
1. No Crop
2. Flash was necessary due to darkness causing "red eye" in all coons.
3. Used paint brush (instead of red eye reduction) to correct.
4. Increased saturation +2
5. Contrast auto fix and Levels auto fix
6. Resized in 5 steps (had difficulty)..no sharpening.
7. Framed, signature and logo. Hope my logo is not distracting on this photo, but my heart is in every photo I post on Treklens, so it has to be there......

As a surprise for Muffled (John), I dedicate this photo to him in hopes it will bring him a smile to begin his day........

Please stop by for a visit. Your thoughts mean so much to me and are appreciated......((hugs hugs))....:O)

Hihi, i had alook at tgi just before i went away to buy some coffe. It put a big smile on my face. So cute. Racons are really cute. To bad that the legs are not all visible in the shot, and maybe the flash is a litlebit to strong. But this sure has a charm of it's own Kat. I am so glad to see you on TL again.

Very cute kat, I like how the others are watching in the background.

excellente photo. beaucoup d'expression. Bravo!

No way, it's mine!!!! hahaha
Excelent capture of the coons well done on this composition.

Fun shot Kat. Great timing as well! Glad he was a good catch.

God's best,

Tim

Well, what a surprise!!!!!! Thanks for the dedication and the sweet thoughts! I too was raised around "coons" and was taught to love all of God's creatures. They are nature's way of entertaining us and teaching us rules of reality! Funny how some of them conform to society better than some of "us"! Also we could learn from the way they become dependent on "handouts" and forget to how fend for themselves! Thanks again for the great post and the dedication. It is great to have you back "on duty" and I hope that you are feeling great!

The way you corrected the red-eye effect actually makes them look like characters out of a Disney cartoon. And if you had wanted your heart to distract less, you could have put it in the place of the flying cracker - but that's too late now. And it never distracts.

Nice, clean sharp capture of the little acrobat, Kat... but it's the expression of the two in the right that makes this shot for me ;o). TFS.
I think you should have used DIP's Red eye correction tool though : the paintbrush took out the reflections as well, and that makes it look a bit unnatural to me - too black anyway.

Nice action shot of these cute furry creatures. They are very entertaining and just love to be fed. The two in the background on the right, look a bit upset that they are not stars of the show! Well done.

Very funny & good Action! I'm surprise how long are those, "almost hand" :o) I like the look in the eye... There is some needs in they're eyes! It's fascinating! :o)

This is so cute. You were lucky to get this close to these adorable creatures, and to get one in action.
The eyes aren't too bad, but if you add a very small white dot on the pupils with the paintbrush it would look more natural.

Sometimes I see them on TV and indeed, they ARE funny and seems always happy...
A funny shot, a "dancing raccoon" and the eyes of the "background-singers" are so nice too, nice portrait !

I really enjoy it! Interesting!! :>

Good capture and cute audience, Kathleen. Your timing is impeccable in freezing this cute moment. Look at their eyes focus on the cracker! :) Thanxxx for the note, I enjoyed reading it.
TFS,
Freddie :)
