I open up the door to greet
the early morning sun.
Closing it behind me and
Away I do run.
Down to the ocean where the SandPiper
Is wading in the surf.....
On the beach I go walking
With my early morning Friend.

Misty-eyed I look about
the ocean where I stray;
It is here I find the courage
to greet the coming day.
For there before the ocean waves
I kneel gently to my knees
To have a word with God
in the early morning breeze........
***************************************
This was taken after the sun has risen over the Atlantic Ocean at low tide, about 9:00 AM. The golden glow is natural and I was shooting into the sun as my friend, the SandPiper, and I enjoyed one of our many early morning walks. The sea gulls are coming in over the crashing of the mighty waves out in the ocean while my friend and I enjoy the solitude of the peaceful water during low tide.....
Tech:
1. Cropped
2. Adusted contrast and levels
3. There was a white burn out from sun glare and chose to colorize the ocean in the yellow part. I left the beach area natural.
4. Resized, framed and applied logo.
(Note: Grateful acknowledgement is given to Dolly Parton's thoughts about the early morning in which I used her theme)

Stop by my little corner and visit for a moment. I look forward to this special time of the day with you. I will be gone for about 5 days so will miss all of you....Keep smiling.....:O) Kat

Super shot - well seen and presented.

Another beautiful post of your gulf seas shores Kat. The colours are warm and inviting and the composition is excellent.
Well taken.

Kat, we will surely miss you too, but we will be here to welcome you back ....go with our love!
I love your poem and the photo, you should print a book of poetry with all these nice poems of yours, well done!

Absolutely beautiful Kathleen.. Colors and composition are right on. I like the effect of the group of birds in the background and the single one, alone on the beautiful beach. Very nicely done. :-)

Beautiful self-portrait, Kat ;o) My Dingo would enjoy such a morning walk too - and so would I. Unfortunately I don't live near the ocean... So I am thankful that you show it like this. Nice work on the colouring of the reflection, the colour is about right, but... and here's the nit-picking part, you coloured out of the lines (above the horizon).
Thanks for showing us your alter ego ;o). Take care.

I love the golden colours in this composition, and also the movement shown by the flying gulls. It has nice horizontal lines of colour, and the reflection of the sandpiper is a finishing touch. Very lovely composition. So sorry you have to be away and we look forward to seeing yo u back with us very soon. Our thoughts are with you dear Kathleen.

Only one thing to say here Kat 'awesome' this is the perfect picture as far as I am concerned. Really should be in a gallery somewhere. A cracking shot, well done.

Peter

This is excellent Kat! A good one to frame and hang somewere in the house.

Hey! It's incredible the texture in different level in this one... The order in that picture is fantastic.. Like the way the birds are... In shadows it's great!

Great picture! The composition, the light, the texture. Excellent!

Kathleen you are a very fortunate person to live so near such beautiful location. Thanks for showing us so beautiful scenes. I love the warm tones the sun is giving on the water and the sand. Thanks

Beutiful capture with multitude of horizons and a lonely silhoutte of the sandpiper. I like the soft colours and the still tranquil reflection of a bird which is in cotrast with chaotic background. Greatly seen.

Well framed shot, golden colours and a view of the sea - very calming :)

On the other side of that ocean, that looks big at our eyes but close at heart view, lives one of your greatest fans..well, not only a "pictures fan", but a lover of your infinite tenderness. And yes, this image, as manny others from you, together with your words, smeels Love for Life in every pixel. So...YUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUPPPIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII :))
Oh, and yes, the technicaly perfect too...

Really an Golden shot. It seems all pure gold at this picture.
Excellent

Kathleen, this is a nice shot. All the different layers of textures, they are superb. Also the reflection of the bird, I like it very much, good composition, regards, Iris

Hi Kathleen!
Beautiful composition. I adored the tone sépia and the reflex of the sun, very pleasant atmosphere to begin the day with enthusiasm. I liked

What a post-card perfect picture Kat! So nicely done. Praying for you today.

God's best,

Tim

This is beautiful Kat!
I love the sepia tone you added, really makes the view seem dreamy. This could be on a vacation pamphlet for Florida, many people would want to visit (even more) after seeing this. Love it!

The golden colour is so lovely, and what an amazing view. The birds perfectly placed in the composition. Kat, you are so lucky to this type of scenery each day. I have been so behind with critiques. I'm so busy with Girl Guides lately. I will catch up soon. Hope you are feeling better. I think about you each day.

Is it a self portrait? I have no doubt because it is beautiful !
A lot of layers: sand/sandpiper reflection / water / seagulls / sky.

Go to my favorites!

Really nice, tranquil mood created in this shot Kat. I can understand why you like this place so much.
