A great deal of thought has been given to love, magic and the potential of floral aphrodisiacs. I bet you are not aware that myth has it that the humble pansy, when placed over the eyes of a sleeping person, will compell them to fall in love with the first person they set eyes on in the morning! Hmmmmmmmmmm

The lovely little Pansy is a cultivated type of violet. The name is French, from Pensee, which means "thought".

They are such alluring flowers with bright and happy faces that make us smile.

I post these two smiles for each of you today with my wish that you have a happy day and smile at everyone you meet today!

Tech:
Cropped, auto contrast and level adjustment. Resized in 4 steps. Sharpened on third step. Added small amount of soft focus, framed and added logo.

Very pleased to say these were taken in a field of Pansies and I was not harassed in any way!

Welcome to my corner of Treklens and come in for a visit....A hug and a smile await you.....((hug))...:O)

HI Kat, what beautiful pansies. They are such a brilliant purple, contrasing with the white. Wonderful pretty faces. I love them TFS.

Wonderful job with depth of field. It accentuates the violets.

Good composition Kat, I like the soft frame and the color is excellent.

Kat - lovely flowers! If I may offer a couple of suggestions?

1. The DOF is a little too short - the lower flower is not quite in focus - a slighly higher f-stop would cure this without bringing the background into focus.

2. That red in the background is a bit distracting - adds a conflicting colour that takes the eye away from the flowers.

You know we forget the importance of smiling at people. I was passing a street person the other day pushing his shopping cart of possesions along. I don't know why, but I smiled at him and he beamed back at me and said "Thanks for the smile." It cost me no effort and it obviously gave him such pleasure - I bet he doesn't get too many.

Smiles to you too Kat!

Beautiful capture! When I was a kid I thought the pansy looked like a teddy bear! They are very beautiful and one more display of nature's paintbrush. Glad there were no "loss prevention" officers present to hamper your activity! The colors are marvelous!

So the pansy police didn't get you for this one Kat. It's a great shot, but a tad out of focus. The colours are great on these smiling faces.

Not you this time, but maybe these flowers felt harassed, Kat "Oh no, not SandPiper again, she will steal our beauty with that camera of hers..." LOL.
Nice flowers and nice PP work, Kat- but I think your logo is a bit disturbing in that position and colour. But that's the only thing I don't really like about it. I must be getting soft ;o)
TFS.

A beautiful pair of smiling twins, I really do love the colour of these pansies. We always plant pansies in the boxes on our deck, I just like their happy 'faces'. Also they bloom long through the summer. I think the border is good too. Very well done.
