[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is the interior of the Tybee Island Lighthouse off the coast of Georgia. My wife and I climbed 178 steps to the top of the 100 foot tall tower - this was taken along the way on one of the landings. I stepped back toward the window and faced the spiral staircase to take the shot. It's not as sharp as I'd like it, but I didn't want to use flash, and it wasn't the brightest inside the lighthouse, hence the slow shutter speed and wide open aperture.

This is truly something different. Well seen!
I love this POV you chose and the colouring works quite well to keep the image simple.
Take care, I hope your knees and hips are ok after such a climb.

I think I'll put omething like this in my home. I love spiraling staircases! Kudos on the POV.

Scott

Great comp - a little more space at the bottom could have been nice. A little bright try a darker version for added "mood"

Hi Bob! Long time no see! :) I like this one! Cool composition, and interesting shapes. If it were me, with 178 upward steps, mine would look as though it had a motion blur applied! :)))

Nice work! I'm going to be in your neck of the woods this weekend - Miami! Leaving for a cruise on Sunday!

Take care,
Gayle

Neat photo Robert very geometrical nice lighting great shot, nicely done.
Christine.

This reminds me of work :( My company deals spiral staircases but nothing like this. Nice shot. Looks nice because of the archway it bring the stairs in the foreground.

Hello Rob,

Lovely shot and I like the idea of using the wall as a natural frame.

Take care,

Shelly.

Nice job Robert and what a climb. I've never been to the east coast of Georgia in the 12 years that I've lived in Atlanta, we always head south....

Well presented.

This is an example of what I referred to when I said you have a very fertile imagination. You were able to "see" this image in your mind's eye before you snapped the shutter. This is photography: the compositin, the symetry and most of all the interest in imparts in the viewer. Where do those steps lead? What could you see from the top? the ocean? the city? Great work.

Hello Robert,
glad to see your remarks, thank you, and this photo is wonderful! Great playing of lights and shadows, good seen 3D-effect. Also I like the colours and textures.
Best wishes, and welcome,
Elena
