| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
My cousin has a huge man-made rock pond in her back yard. It is filled with different kinds of fish. I cropped the original as it had netting in blocks over the pond to keep the hawks from diving in for a quick dinner. They had lost many fish to the giant hawks. I cropped off the net that was to the right. I also cloned out bits of "food" that were distracting and looked like a bunch of "noise" in the photo. I increased shadows to darken the background, added contrast, resized and sharpened for upload. Also, poor fish lost a fin in post processing as it showed up as a white spot in amongst the black background. I*t was just too distracting. That's when I went a bit "abstract". :) Hope you enjoy something a little different from me.
Thanks for your comments, critiques, and workshops. I do appreciate all of them. Lisa |

Lisa wasn't sure what I was seeing from the thumbnail, but what a pleasant surprise, especially what looks like a cats face on the back of the upper left fish ...
The amount of pp work you did worked well. At first I thought focus could have been sharper then noticed the detail on the upper left fish and it seems to be right on, so good job on your constantly moving subjects.
Like the info in your notes, I guess a shot of a hawk coming in would not go over well, but certainly would be interesting.
Colors show well.
