| While watching TV I heard a weather warning for tornadoes in our area so I looked out my front door to see some ominous weather over my view of the Ohio River into Clarksville, Indiana. I set up my camera on a tripod and waited for about 30 minutes until I saw this funnel cloud appear over the city of Clarksville. I was able to shoot for about two minutes until the funnel cloud disappeared. Watching the news further I learned there was no serious damage to the Clarksville, IN area, only some wind damage to a few locations, but no injuries or fatalities. The reason the sky and background looks grainy is because of the higher ISO setting I set my camera on, which sometimes causes this effect. Not the greatest tornado shot, but one is lucky to capture even one of these shots in their lifetime, especially when not prepared for such an event. |

impressinnant cette tornade sur cette ville ( c'est ta vile?)
les couleurs sont splendides et donne l'ambiance d'apocalypse que peut entrainer une tornade
magnifique
I would have been scared mindless even from as far away as that, let alone try to photograph it. And then to even capture that funnel cloud in a still shot is just mind boggling. I like the drama, the tree silhouette, the bright lights of the city, that spooky cloud. Man, this is just a great shot. Even with grain. My huge compliments and thanks so much,
Shelly
Oh man! What a great shot, way to go. This is an example of "just get the damn shot" and to hell with asthetics, just get it! Like a Big Foot Sighting...you point, you click, you hope to GOD you got something to show for it! I've seen ONE in my lifetime and almost killed myself getting the shot...got caught in my truck as it went over..(what an idiot)...but I got the shot! This is grand!
B-)
