Last night I decided it was time to capture a sunset. I took Teddy and we rode out to the lakefront park in Kenner. I was amazed by the number of like minded people. We all grabbed a space, sat, chatted and waited hoping for a wonderful sunset. We were not disappointed, we all ooohed and ahhhed and then all you could hear was the lapping of the water and the snap of the shutters!

Thanks for stopping by...I hope you enjoy the sunset too!
Fran

Hello Fran.
Wonderful sunset, superb capture; well done.
Very nice perspective and silhouette.
Thanks for sharing.
Have a great weekend, best wishes.

Yasin.

Hello Fran,
Great mood here!
I love the powerline, normally an eyesore but here an important element in the composition...
Superb!
Greetings,
Pablo -

It is the first time I see power masts used with such dramatic effect in what is primarily a nature shot. At first they seem disturbing, but if they weren't there, the photo might be boring and with less depth. A nice compo with that tall sky.

Sweet as sugar you are! I like the perspective convergence of the electrical towers with the fisher people in the foreground. Nice end to a peaceful day!

Merci for the View
Have a great weekend!

ML

fran,
a grand view which is also calm in nature and a sense of solitude comes over. good composition with the elements. as pablo said the powerlines are eyesore normally but here you have composed them well.

I see myself just sitting there, maybe fishing, enjoing the other fisherman, enjoing the scenery, taking a photo of this suberb sunset with Fran, discussing who will teach the next macro photography course, and then I see a big fight to see who gets the last cigaret. Lol. Nice relaxing pic. TFS ^-^

Paul

you got a stunner, Fran, just look at that light...thanx, M, (*_*)

Wow Fran, fresh sun nicely caught! And it looks like the fishermen were also enjoying the sunset too. And the power lines even seem to suit the image too. Beautiful colours, well done.
I'm gonna have to teach you how to even up the horizons though!
Cheers my friend,
Janice

Hi Fran, it was worth the wait to get this nice sunset shot. Beautiful soft pastel sky colours, interesting scenery with the fishermen and the bridge, well done.

Kindest regards
Wayne

Original! We saw so much sunset by here. It's easy to impress us by the beauty and majestic of it... But to find different way to present it...
To make it fall down on a line... An electric sun!? I would not have to pay the bill!! :)

Great Sunset Fran! Beautiful colors and the towers carry your eye into the distance. I wish I could take a sunset photo here, it's been raining and cloudy for the past 2 weeks straight with no sign of clearing anytime soon. Springtime in Ottawa sucks!
Cheers

Exceptional sunset with fishermen and collegues photographers; these electricity lines make the picture; the lining is great towards the descending point. Lovely silhouettes and I like the dividing in sky and land.
Very attractive Fran
Huub

Hello Fran,

Lovely soft colours displaying a magic sunset. Well composed with the powerline adding some perspective. Good silhouettes and PP work. I was wondering perhaps if you maybe had some lens curve? Janice pointed out the horizon but it just may be corrected using the tool in X for Lens Distortion. TFS and hugsss,
David
PS Many thanks for your comment on Fungus and Lichen

Hi Fran,
A nice sunset composition. I can't think of a better way I would like to spend a nice evening. You have really captured the mood well with this scene. Beautiful!
Scott

An electric sunset over water! Surely electricity and water don't mix! I hope those fishermen didn't get a shock. ;o)

Nice composition with beautiful colors and silhouettes, and the line of the pylons makes this one unique.

Regards,
Lois

Hello Fran, this is a beautiful sunset. What a night to go fishing! Very well composed with the fishermen and the electric post line.

Take care, Yan :)

Hi friend,

Hi Fran...
Wow... Wonderful scene and beautiful landscape photograph... The perspective is incredible... Perfect sunset, colors and light... The silhouette of the men and the ambience are perfect too... Of course great POV and shot...
TFS...
Stay well..
Salim.

Hi Fran,
nice sunset shot, though I'd love to see it with half of the sky cropped out. In that way you'd emphasize fantastic series of pylons coming from setting sun. tfs

Marek

Hi Fran,
