[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Taken on a trip this past weekend to Maryland, near Annapolis.
This "palm tree", among others in Red and Green, decorated the outdoor seating area of a restaurant/bar near the hotel we stayed in.
I thought the colors were stunning with the mix of blue water, multi-colored beach umbrellas, wood pilings and the variously painted picnic tables.
Also, I had never seen a real yellow coconut or coconut tree in the wild; pretty amazing and worth capturing this rare breed. ;^) Hah!
All kidding aside, shot in RAW, cropped with the zoom on camera and levels and color saturation pushed a couple of notches to further bring out the bright colors and contrasts.
Resized, sharpened and framed for posting here.

Hi Wilt,

Indeed that yellow palm tree really makes quite a contrast with the deep blue water.
I love crazy colour combinations like this - gives you a real holiday mood.
First time I visited the Caribbean I just could not believe my eyes seeing all those colourful paint jobs on houses and furniture,
Excellent composition!

The palm is a nice subject Wilt, but it seems my eyes keep being drawn towards the blueish umbrellas with the mountainscape.
A very colourful shot, technically very good.

Hi Wilt,
I remember seeing one similar artificial palm tree in Australia and they used it as a cell phone tower. The yellow color made it stood out from the rest of the elements making it the focal point of the compo. Nice repeating patterns and reflections. Wonderfully captured and composed ... I like the subtle humor of your titile :) Well done! tfs
