[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Chesapeake Bay again. At a lawn party at a beautiful bed and breakfast, the same one in fact as the tree at moonrise photo from earlier, when as the sun got lower in the sky it lit the back of this swing that was sittig all alone and empty overlooking the bay. It just gave it a wonderful orange glow which added to the end of the day feeling of a sunset without the need to show or capture the sun at the horizon.
Shot in RAW, converted to jpeg. Normal but slight levels and saturation adjust to bring up the orange a bit.
Resized, framed and sharpened for TL.

Hi Wilt - I like TL photos that make me think about other ways to capture the idea or the scene - and this is one of those shots. The idea I like very much and my thoughts are these...

The top of the bench lines up almost exactly with the horizon, I would have preferred it to be higher, i.e. shots taken from a lower POV?

I think the bench takes up too much of the scene...currently it is over half the width of the shot. Maybe stepping futher away so the bench was about 1/3rd of the width would be nice?

Last thing, Perhaps a person sitting on the left-hand side of the bench would have added an interesting element?

Overall, I do like the idea, the execution and the quality - and I especially like the thought-provoking aspect of this one. Nice posting!

AHHHHHH, the Chesapeake Bay. My mom grew up in Hampton, VA and the love of the ocean never left her! I like the photo of the bench, it in itself is very attractive, with interesting woodwork. I would have liked to see more of the ocean (that's just me). But the orange glow of the sun on the bench is truly beautiful. I'm "funny" about frames, but you have added a frame that's very complimentary.

The bay is beautiful but can also be fierce especially in the winter season.
