[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Night at the Fights III

These two men seemed to me to be pretty evenly matched. Although the man on the right was forty years old (old, for a boxer), he kept pace very well with his younger opponent.

If you are just tuning in to my boxing series, please see my notes on Night at the Fights I and II.

Hello Karen,
Indeed that was a miss, luckily for the blue guy!
Good diagonal composition, seems like you were front row here!!
Greetings,

No I dont like 'violent sports'
No I would never go see a Spanish bullfight, box match or
any kind..

Yes I critique this photo only since your frame work and POV..dark background colours and sharpness are good.

So, neutral on one hand, a compliment for photo skill on the other hand

( just know we Dutch are a strange lot ) {^__-)

I like this photo the best of the three since it has the action frozen with just a hint of blur at 1/60th. It's fun to experiment with slower shutter speeds to enhance the sense of motion. Digital makes it so easy since we can check our work. I set my camera to take continuous exposures to give me a broader choice of raw images now that I'm not spending a lot on film.

nice capture.......tfs

Good colour and focus Karen. Excellent detail with the muscle structures showing up well. Nicely framed and presented and TFS,
David

Many thanks for your comment on ‘Spring has Sprung’

PS I love the photo on your intro page, I must see what I have :)

Hi Karen,

Nice action shot! I like your timing, capturing the near miss and the tension on the boxer's face. Great colors, exposure and detail.

Vassilis

Hi Karen,
you really got a good shot, the determination on the other guys face..I'm glad I'm not standing in the ring!! Great color !

Hi Karen

Not a past time I enjoy (I'm a bit too soft for boxing :))but I have to admire your action shot. Well done for getting the shots as the low light must make it difficult to get such sharp shots. NIcely composed and your timing was excellent
