[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I had a difficult time finding a photo for this week’s Friday theme. Sure, I have plenty of shots with people smiling, but didn’t find anything that I thought was really suitable. Then I looked around and saw one of my favorite 35 mm film shots of my mother with my young(at the time) daughter. Though my mom passed away many years ago, this photo really captures the joy she had in being a grandmother (or Oma as she liked to be called by my kids). She called my daughter her sunshine and in a quiet moment explained to me the reason why.

Since my scanner is kaput, I mounted my DSLR on an old, but versatile tripod and took several shots with different light sources, but no flash. After adjusting sharpness, colors and contrast I added the border, which I thought worked well with this shot.

Not one of my best shots, but one of my best shots.

Mauvais cadrage, sujet beaucoup trop à gauche, arrière plan à droite trop présent , devrait être éliminé par un recadrage ou en assombrissant ces éléments distrayant

This is quite a good photo for this week's Friday Theme, which is quite difficult in my opinion. You did a great job with your DSLR playing a scanner, quality is very fine. I was born in the year of the photo. :) I like this framing, too. Well done, my friend, TFS!

You did an excellent job of reproducing such a tender moment with your set up. Your mom had such a glow of pride in her eye. Perhaps not your best but certainly one of your best memories.

Nice choice for the theme. Funny how you took a photo of a photo, clever thinking since your scanner has given up the ghost. It came out quite well considering. What a great memory, I bet your daughter really cherishes this shot too.

A good snapshot of 2 generations. The theme here is about 'Emotion', & this is a very appropriate image for that genre, despite the minor technical imperfections. If you were a professional portraiture photographer, then the 1st critique just might be justified. Have a great weekend!

Hi Werner,
There are a lot of this kind of spontaneous snapshots in our family albums! This is not a matter about their technical quality! What we search in them is the emotion rememberance of this moment!
This is what I see here! And this is the theme for that!
You have a great chance to have a so happy photo of your mom! Keep it preciously, and if you have taste to do a light blurred work on the background, this will be still better!
