[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Daily I drive past this bridge, but never have I stopped to photograph it, although often I've wanted to. Presently it is the focal point of a park, but originally was built in 1745 as part of the driveway to the Belair Mansion, the Georgian plantation home of the Provincial Governor of Maryland, Samuel Ogle.

Today was extremely overcast, so I boosted the saturation and contrast a little.

Hi Karen,
A very beautiful setting and a very interesting bridge. I get the feeling that you should have been here a few weeks earlier as the trees have lost most of the leaves.

You have captured this beautiful and timeless scene with a very nicely composed shot. I particularly like the large foreground rock which adds a touch of informality to the scene. I played with it a little and found a slight increase in contrast gave it more impact. (I did not add a WS for such a small change).

Very nice POV Karen - the bridge leads nicely into the distance and shows good perspective. Nice colour and the diffused light brings the colours out well.

I do feel that the image could be a little sharper as it seems a bit 'soft'..

Cheers

Hi, Karen!

I haven't peeked into your gallery in quite awhile, and I'm so glad to stop by and find a fresh post. I really like the textures and tones of this image, the way you've framed it with the tree on the left, the low shooting angle, the good depth of field, the rich color. The sum of the parts is an impression of instant charm -- the sort of place you'd like to kick back with a blanket, a picnic lunch, and a good book or good company :)

Warm regards,
Jim
