More fun with frames . . . taken at Catoctin Mountain Orchard in Thurmont, Maryland. This was part of a huge pyramid of pumpkins. I did nothing to the actual shot but clone out a piece of sensor dust and crop. When cropping, I saved two shots--one with the top pumpkin, and one without. I pasted the one without the pumpkin on the frame, and copied the top pumpkin from the shot with the pumpkin, and pasted that separately onto the frame. Then I began the tedious work of touching up the edges of the top pumpkin with the paint brush tool, enlarging the shot so that I could paint a few pixels at a time.

Frames vs. No Frames--still haven't decided . . . before framing, I thought this was a strong shot with the top pumpkin reaching into the blue sky, but I couldn't resist the "fun". In general, I like a simple frame that doesn't detract from a great shot, if any, but am deciding that it depends on the purpose of the presentation . . . TL allows us the flexibility to practice as we please! : )

Frames are so much a personal thing Karen. I love the colours of the pumpkins, we don't have them that orange here. Well composed and very good artwork. TFS,
David

Many thanks for your comment on ‘Vale Sasha’

Nice on so many, um, levels, Karen. Great triangular composition, creative use of patterns and pumpkins. nicely framed, good sharpness and contrast, wonderful the way that topmost pumpkin crests the inner frame. Highly informative note is helpful, too.

Way to go!
Jim
