[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I guess it's cheating using a birdfeeder to attract birds, and placing it right outside my window, where I can use a tripod and shoot them from the warmth and comfort of the inside of my house--but I am still very much enjoying being able to capture these beautiful birds, even if the feeder makes it into the shot.
Just a quick post this morning, since it has been so long. I found this shot already prepared from practicing a frame with Photoshop according to John Tulip's helpful instructions. Other than the frame, I bumped midtones (10), and the contrast (20).

gorgeous of the various kind of blue, beautiful details. well done, Karen

Hello Karen!

Nice shot with a good composition! But it's focused on bird's belly. Imho, you should close your aperture more or focus on its head.

Nice capture.
But I feel it could be a bit sharper :-).
Good framing for presentation

Hi Karen

A good zoom shot on the bird, with excellent sharpness, dof & graphis. I like the muted colors. Well composed. Tfs!

Defines teh bird...Intrusive at best...and steals my picnics at worst..but still in images a good catch~!

Hi Karen, why should it be cheating, good colour and a lovely background. A few comments on sharpness but no one offered a workshop until I came along :). TFS,
David

Hello Karen and good to see a new one from your 'camera-obscura ' as the first one was called :-)
Right away I have to say David did a great job on the WS..but Karen .. how ofrten we all have to be quick with the camera and lucky its all there..
A remedie might be:
Put 'salt' on the tail and they freeze or use Hairspray to prevent them from flying away :-)
When in montreal I specially bought a bird feeder , how much I wanted a Blue jay or Red Cardinal..
Not a single bird landed on the blimey thing *_*
So what ever the means: you got him right

Very nice shot of this jay. Good bg.

Hi Karen,
Always loved Bluejays myself! I like your shot even with the birdfeeder, the little pointy roof adds to the photo. Great work though the window too!! Don't blame you on the not going outside!! -26F here with the windchilll...brrrr!

Hello Karen,
What beautiful patterns on the Blue Jay. I had not seen this detail in an image as clearly anyway. You are correct, you cheat! But where would we be without you showing this beautiful bird, and uh, that Birdfeeder 2.
Steve

Hi Karen !
very sweet capture. The narrow focus has been well executed.
Lovely result.
Best regards, Daniel

Hello Karen,
Splendid details in this fellow!
He gives you a fine pose here, resulting in this attractive composition...
DOF spot on isolates the subject well, great colour palette!
Greetings,

Hi Karen,

Very nice shot. I know how hard it is to get a shot, focused on the eyes, well composed, and all this before it flies away.

Good colors and strong composition. Only critique would be the sharpness, but as I said, it's not easy.

TFS,
David
